Frankel \u2013 who has been married to the Precious actress since 2021 \u2013 revealed his Stage I Papillary Thyroid cancer was caught early but only because he \u201cpushed for an ultrasound my doctor didn\u2019t think I needed\u201d.<\/p>\n
He posted a carousel of pictures on Instagram and wrote: \u201cThings I never thought I\u2019d have to post: I was diagnosed with Stage I Papillary Thyroid cancer. I found it very early because I pushed for an ultrasound my doctor didn\u2019t think I needed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI refused to \u2018wait and see\u2019. I refused to come back in 6\u20139 months. I made the calls. I leveraged connections. I chased cancellations. I made a LOT of noise. It worked. Surgery went well. I\u2019m okay for now.\u201d<\/p>\n
While his surgery was successful, Frankel – who has twins twins Cooper and Maya with Sidibe – admitted it is a \u201cmore aggressive cell type\u201d so he will need to be monitored.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cPathology showed a more aggressive cell type, so there\u2019s more monitoring ahead. But we caught it early. I\u2019m extremely proactive so I can be around for my family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd Brandon went on to share that he knows how lucky he is that he had access to excellent health care.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cHere\u2019s the uncomfortable truth: Early detection didn\u2019t just save my life. Access and advocating for myself did. \u00a0I had insurance. I had time. I had people who could help move things faster. Too many don\u2019t.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHealthcare shouldn\u2019t reward the loudest, the most connected, or the most financially secure. It shouldn\u2019t require strategy, privilege, and stamina just to feel safe.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe went on to praise American Horror Story actress Gabourey for \u201cholding everything down\u201d while he was unwell.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cMy wife carried our family through all of this- holding everything down while I handled appointments, surgery, and recovery. I don\u2019t know how anyone does this without that kind of love and support. I\u2019m grateful. I\u2019m lucky.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut luck and means shouldn\u2019t be a healthcare plan. The system is broken. Healthcare should be a basic human right. PLEASE advocate for yourself, and be proactive!\u201d<\/p>\n
