Lady Victoria Hervey<\/a>,<\/strong> the ex-girlfriend of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/strong> (formerly Prince Andrew) appears to have likened the attention surrounding his arrest to a \u201cblood sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Posting via her X account<\/a> on Friday, February 20, Hervey, 49, wrote,\u201cThere is a feeding frenzy going on right now which can only be compared to a blood sport like fox hunting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hervey did not mention Andrew directly in the post, but she has been a staunch supporter of the former royal in the past as controversy swirled surrounding his ties to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andrew was arrested<\/a> on suspicion of misconduct in public office on Thursday, February 19, which was also his 66th birthday.<\/p>\n

The U.K.\u2019s Thames Valley Police said in a statement that it has \u201carrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.\u201d It added that searches are being carried out in Berkshire and Norfolk.<\/p>\n

Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright<\/strong> later said in a statement, \u201cFollowing a thorough assessment, we have now opened an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is important that we protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offense,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe understand the significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Andrew\u2019s arrest, King Charles III,<\/strong> who stripped his brother of his \u201cprince\u201d title in November 2025, issued a statement.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office. What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities. In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation,\u201d Charles, 77, said in a statement issued by Buckingham Palace on Thursday. \u201cLet me state clearly: the law must take its course.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAndrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested at his Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, on Thursday, February 19 \u2014 his 66th birthday. The United Kingdom\u2019s Thames Valley Police confirmed that they had \u201carrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.\u201d While they did not reveal the suspect\u2019s identity, due to national [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hervey has publicly defended Andrew since the royal\u2019s association with Epstein resurfaced in 2019. Following Andrew\u2019s infamous BBC Newsnight<\/em> interview in November 2019, Hervey surprisingly suggested the shocking TV appearance proved his innocence to her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI watched it and I thought, there is no way, if he is guilty, that he would go onto television and do an interview like that. There\u2019s no way,\u201d she insisted to Good Morning Britain<\/em> at the time.<\/p>\n

Andrew was sued by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre<\/strong> over sexual assault allegations in 2021 and settled the lawsuit for a private sum the following year. Hervey frequently spoke out in defense of Andrew, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. Giuffre died by suicide<\/a> in April 2025.<\/p>\n
