Swap Explained"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><em>What I Like About You<\/em> is finally streaming on Netflix \u2014 but the theme song will sound a little different.<\/p>\n<p>The hit WB sitcom, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/unforgettable-wb-hunks-where-are-they-now\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">which aired from 2002 to 2004<\/a>, followed the lives of two sisters living together in New York City \u2014 teenager Holly (<strong>Amanda Bynes<\/strong>) and her responsible older sister, Val (<strong>Jennie Garth<\/strong>). In addition to Bynes and Garth the series starred <strong>Simon Rex, Wesley Jonathan, Leslie Grossman, Michael McMillian, Nick Zano, Allison Munn, Dan Cortese, Edward Kerr<\/strong> and <strong>David de Lautour<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>What I Like About You<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/jennie-garth-never-wants-to-talk-about-dan-schneider-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pulled inspiration for its show title<\/a> from the 1980 song of the same name by American rock band The Romantics. A cover version of the song \u2014 performed by Canadian all-female rock group Lillix \u2014 was used for the theme song after also being heard on the <em>Freaky Friday<\/em> and <em>13 Going on 30<\/em> soundtracks.<\/p>\n<p>Season 2 featured a remixed techno\/dance style version, which was the theme song for the rest of the series. The duo starred as sisters Holly and Val Tyler, respectively, on the WB sitcom from 2002 to 2006. It changed in the next three seasons with a remixed techno\/dance style theme created by <strong>Philip Steir<\/strong>, who composed all the music for the remainder of the series.<\/p>\n<h2>When Did the \u2018What I Like About You\u2019 Theme Song Switch?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Wally Palmar, Mike Skill, Rich Cole<\/strong> and <strong>Jimmy Marinos<\/strong> wrote the 1980 track \u201cWhat I Like About You,\u201d which served as the inspiration for the show\u2019s title.
