Referring to her father\u2019s alarming comments, she clarified: \u201cI think what he was saying when he said \u2018suffering\u2019 is what we don\u2019t often talk about when it comes to cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n
Teddi explained that the suffering \u201cis how you feel after all of the surgeries and all of the testing \u2026 how your mental state is doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been working really hard trying to figure out, find that peace, find that happiness, find that joy, find myself again,\u201d she expressed.<\/p>\n
It has now been nearly three-and-a-half years since Teddi disclosed her stage 2 melanoma diagnosis back in October 2022.<\/p>\n
Since that time, she has undergone over a dozen surgeries \u2014 including last year\u2019s brain surgery \u2014 to combat the cancer\u2019s growth.<\/p>\n

(Image Credit: Bravo)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nIs she in remission?<\/h2>\n \u201cI was working the Super Bowl with Tamra [Judge] and then the next day I went in to the hospital thinking I had migraines,\u201d Teddi recalled, referring to the 2025 Super Bowl.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd that\u2019s when they found the tumors in my brain and my lungs,\u201d she detailed.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it\u2019s not something that I thought about for months leading up to it,\u201d Teddi clarified. \u201cIt\u2019s just, \u2018Oh, OK, you\u2019re in surgery the next day.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Since then, there has been good news. In October 2025, Teddi reported that there was no longer any detectable trace of cancer in her system.<\/p>\n
But does that mean that she\u2019s in remission?<\/p>\nIt looks like Teddi Mellencamp wasn\u2019t sure what to make of what she and the other RHOBH ladies were hearing. That is because previously undetected remnants of the cancer can again begin to grow. <\/p>\n
Which is what fans had feared <\/em>had happened after John Mellencamp described her as \u201csuffering\u201d during a recent interview.<\/p>\n\u201cHe hates seeing me go through anything,\u201d Teddi explained of her father\u2019s state of mind as he set off alarm bells.<\/p>\n
She knows that she has to remain vigilant <\/h2>\n \u201cPeople talk about being strong,\u201d Teddi reflected.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut sometimes,\u201d she opined, \u201cstrength is admitting you\u2019re still figuring it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
She\u2019s right about that.<\/p>\n
Teddi recently did a stint on The Masked Singer<\/em>, a show that perpetually feels like a parody of television.<\/p>\nSome people feel that they can best combat cancer by pushing themselves. So long as they don\u2019t overextend themselves, they\u2019re often right. <\/p>\n
We hope that Teddi is listening to her doctors and to her body.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
