Nicole Richie<\/strong> <\/a>and her daughter, Kate Madden, are forever twinning.<\/p>\n

Kate, 18, who is the daughter of Richie, 44, and Joel Madden<\/strong>, showed off a new tattoo inspired by her mom\u2019s ink via Instagram on Sunday, February 8. In the pic, which displayed her new jet black hair that was first debuted in June 2025, she turned around to give the first look at fine line angel wings sketched into her upper back.<\/p>\n

Kate styled her delicate tattoo with a gold dress featuring a strappy back with halter straps and butterfly details. In another photo, Kate turned around to show off the rest of the design. Her gold dress was finished with triangle cups and a bodycon fit.<\/p>\n

For glam, she donned a full beat including dewy foundation, filled-in eyebrows, long lashes and lined, pink lips. Her brunette hair was parted down the middle. She wore her mane down and straightened.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNicole Richie is clearing the air after hinting her 18-year-old daughter no longer uses the name Harlow. \u201cYeah, she goes by her middle name,\u201d Richie, 44, told People on Wednesday, January 14. \u201cShe has her whole life.\u201d When asked about the widespread response to the reveal, Richie continued, \u201cI didn\u2019t look, but it makes sense [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c\ud83e\udebd,\u201d Kate captioned the post. Richie and more of their fans complimented their matching ink<\/a> in the comments section.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2665\ufe0f\u2665\ufe0f\u2665\ufe0f,\u201d Richie gushed weeks after clearing the air that her daughter has always gone by her middle name<\/a>, Kate, rather than her first name, Harlow.<\/p>\n

Another social media user noticed the similarities in Kate\u2019s ink, writing, \u201cYou got the same tattoo as your mom! \u2764\ufe0f.\u201d A second fan commented, \u201cAngel wings like her mama \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\ude0d.\u201d<\/p>\n

Richie has shown off her own angel wings in a number of backless dresses.<\/p>\n

Back in 2012, she put her tattoos on full display at the Baby2Baby Gala in California. Her artwork features a blend of pastel colors, creating wings on both of her shoulder blades.<\/p>\n

She also has her last name inked on the back of her neck in cursive letters, as well as a pink bow. Also in her collection is a tattoo of an anklet with a cross on it, and \u201cVirgin\u201d written on her wrist. Lastly, she has another cross right above her bum.<\/p>\n

Richie previously opened up about her tattoos while making an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres show<\/em>, which the host reposted via her Facebook page in September 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cI got my first tattoo when I was 14,\u201d she explained, noting she got it done in \u201ca garage.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause that turned out so great, I went back and did it a week later,\u201d she joked. \u201cBecause I\u2019m an idiot,\u201d \u2028Richie continued, joking that her next tattoo was a \u201clovely tramp stamp\u201d that she\u2019s \u201cso proud of.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeGeneres, 68, then questioned why Richie didn\u2019t get her tattoo removed, to which she replied, \u201cI really was curious [and asked], \u2018What\u2019s the process? Is it gonna hurt?\u2019\u201d She then learned that with the size of her cross tattoo, it would take \u201cover a year\u201d to remove it. \u201cSo I\u2019m just gonna pass,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s there right now. It\u2019s here with me. We\u2019re just gonna stick together for a little while [and] see how it goes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNicole Richie seemingly dropped a major clue about her and husband Joel Madden\u2019s daughter, hinting she no longer goes by Harlow. \u201c18 years of you \u2665\ufe0f\ud83c\udf82 @katemaddennn,\u201d Richie, 44, wrote via Instagram on Monday, January 12, in a joint post with Madden, 46. The upload, which featured memories with their eldest child, was in honor [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

DeGeneres then quipped that tattoo artists should have \u201cflesh-colored ink\u201d to cover up artwork that people wanted to remove instead of having to get it lasered off.<\/p>\n
