Cox\/Getty Images)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They complained that the performance would be un-American, even though Benito was born in the US territory of Puerto Rico. <\/p>\n<p>They griped that he performs primarily in Spanish, as though anyone watches the Super Bowl halftime show for the lyrics.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, this is a situation where a lot of people got outraged first, and then worked their way backward to try and justify their furor.<\/p>\n<p>The haters received some valuable ammunition on Monday in the form of a viral photo that appears to show Benito burning an American flag.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>\u201cRight here. It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn\u2019t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence,\u201d\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/116038200403048483\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the president posted<\/a>, adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis \u2018Show\u2019 is just a \u2018slap in the face\u2019 to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day \u2014 including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>How has Benito responded to all of this? <\/p>\n<p>Well, it seems that he\u2019s mostly just shrugged it off and kept living his best life.
