The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/em><\/a> star Mary Cosby<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s son, Robert Cosby Jr.<\/strong>, has broken his silence after recently being released from a Utah jail.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m back :),\u201d Robert 23, posted via Instagram<\/a> on Friday, February 6, alongside a carousel of photos of himself and his pet bulldog.<\/p>\n

Robert\u2019s attorney Clayton Simms<\/strong> confirmed to People<\/em><\/a> on Wednesday, February 4, that the Bravo star was released from Salt Lake County Metro Jail on Tuesday, February 3, after two months behind bars. Per court documents, Robert will be required to serve 36 months of probation and complete 75 hours of community service.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Robert] expresses deep regret regarding his prior actions and acknowledges that his past behavior demonstrates poor judgment,\u201d Simms told the outlet.<\/p>\n

The lawyer went on, \u201c[Robert] attributes his behavior to an absence of coping skills when dealing with a painful separation from his wife, as he was unprepared for the sudden dissolution of their union.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simms indicated that Robert will undergo mental health and anger management evaluations as a condition of his release. (Robert previously opened up to his mom, Mary, 53, about past substance abuse issues on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/em>.)<\/p>\n

\u201cTo ensure his continued success, Robert is committed to taking responsibility, engaging in therapy and securing employment,\u201d Simms told People<\/em>. \u201cUnfortunately, we sometimes learn more from our mistakes than our successes. Robert is on the right path and moving forward in a positive direction.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> reported<\/a> in November 2025 that Robert Jr. pleaded guilty to assault, trespassing and violating a protective order, among other charges, in relation to several incidents involving his estranged wife, Alexiana Arian Smokoff<\/strong>, and her father.<\/p>\n

At the time, the court declined Robert\u2019s request to be released from custody and ordered him to remain in confinement at Salt Lake County Metro Jail until sentencing in February. A judge issued a permanent order of no contact for Alexiana as well.<\/p>\n

Alexiana filed for divorce<\/a> at Salt Lake County District Court in November 2025, with the court granting her a default divorce decree earlier this month. A condition of the divorce required Robert not to harass, threaten or show up at Alexiana\u2019s home and he was also required to pay her legal fees associated with the divorce.<\/p>\n

Mary opened up about Robert\u2019s arrest during the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/em> reunion in January by telling host Andy Cohen<\/strong> that she was \u201cOK\u201d with her son being jailed for the time being.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not worried about him,\u201d Mary told Andy. \u201cI know he\u2019s somewhere where he\u2019s not using. At some point, I have to step back so that he can learn and he can make his own decisions, and unfortunately, he\u2019s learning the hard way. But I\u2019m OK with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Mary Cosby shared an update on how her son Robert Jr. is doing amid his substance abuse struggles. \u201cHe\u2019s steady, which I think is good,\u201d Mary, 52, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting the limited-edition RHOSLC-themed Van Leeuwen ice cream flavor, The SLC Scoop, alongside costar Angie [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She went on, \u201cIt\u2019s just, you don\u2019t want to see your kid suffer, but I know it\u2019s good. And I\u2019d rather him be [in jail] than dead, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n
