After Ashley called out her former mom-group for acting like \u201cmean girls\u201d, Kaley \u2013 who has daughter Matilda, two, with fianc\u00e9, Tom Pelphrey \u2013 shared her thoughts.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Watch What Happens Live, she said: \u201cI mean, if you don\u2019t like being part of a group, just leave, baby.\u201d <\/p>\n
Host Andy Cohen replied: \u201cRight!\u201d and Kaley said: \u201cI don\u2019t think we have to talk about it, to which Cohen, 57, added \u201cLike, write an essay about it.\u201d <\/p>\n
Ashley – who has Jupiter, four, and Emerson, 16 months, with husband Christopher French – first opened up about her experiences with the mom group in a post on her blog in which she declared: “Here\u2019s the thing nobody prepared me for: Mom groups can turn toxic. <\/p>\n
\n“Not because the moms themselves are toxic people, but because the dynamic shifts into an ugly place with mean-girl behaviour. I know this from personal experience.”<\/p>\n
\nThe High School Musical star explained there were group text chains that “didn’t include everyone” and there were “hangouts” she didn’t get invited to.<\/p>\n
\nIn her viral essay for The Cut, the 40-year-old actress insisted it was fine to walk away from friendships that were no longer positive.<\/p>\n
\nShe wrote: “If a mom group consistently leaves you feeling hurt, drained or left out, it\u2019s not the mom group for you.<\/p>\n
\n“Choosing to step away doesn\u2019t make you mean or judgmental. It makes you honest with yourself. It\u2019s also worth remembering that friendships, like all relationships, have seasons.”<\/p>\n
\nFans speculated Ashley\u2019s toxic group included stars such as Meghan Trainor, Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff.<\/p>\n
\nLater, Trainor shared a video on Tik Tok in which she lip synched to a clip from season five of Stranger Things in which Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher) tried to convince her pals that Mr. Whatsit (Jamie Campbell Bower) isn’t the friendly face they think he is.<\/p>\n
\nThe dialogue stated: “Come on you have to believe me! Please, you have to believe me, you have to believe me.”<\/p>\n
\nThe All About That Bass singer – who has sons Riley, four, and Barry, two, with husband Daryl Sabara – wrote on the video: “Me still trying to convince everyone I’m not involved in the mom group drama.”<\/p>\n
\nShe added in the caption: “I swear i’m innocent (sic)”<\/p>\n
