The cause of death has been reported to be natural causes. <\/p>\n Charles<\/strong>\u2018 son Scott <\/strong>brought up how the actor specialized in playing preachers and priests. <\/p>\n Scott<\/strong> told Variety<\/em>, \u201cIn his own words, his job was \u2018marrying or burying people.\u2019 As he told it, the panic-stricken director would invariably come to him to beg him to find a way to fill in unscripted space between \u2018We are gathered here together\u2019 (where he\u2019d probably get his close-up) and the \u2018amen\u2019 at the end of the scene (where he usually wouldn\u2019t).
