It\u2019s almost time to dive into Love Story.<\/em> Ryan Murphy<\/strong>\u2019s nine-episode series, which chronicles the whirlwind romance and tragic end<\/a> of John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Carolyn Bessette- Kennedy<\/a>, debuts on FX on February 12. On Tuesday, the Love Story<\/em> cast and crew celebrated the premiere with a glitzy party at a New York hot spot befitting the \u201990s It couple.<\/p>\n Kelly and Pidgeon at the Pool<\/p>\n <\/span>Stephanie Augello\/PictureGroup for FX<\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n After a screening at Carnegie Hall, guests were bused over to The Pool, a storied event space and the former home of the Four Seasons restaurant located in Midtown\u2019s historic Seagram Building. Designed by Philip Johnson and opened in 1959, The Pool\u2019s mid-century modern aesthetic harkens back to the New York of the Mad Men<\/em> age. It\u2019s the birthplace of the \u201cpower lunch,\u201d where notables like Barry Diller,<\/strong> Henry Kissinger, Barbara Walters, Nora Efron, Tom Wolfe, and yes, even Jackie O, were known to dine; it\u2019s also where Love Story<\/em> shot a pivotal scene for its second episode. (But more on that in a bit.)<\/p>\n Love Story<\/em> star Sarah Pidgeon,<\/strong> who plays Carolyn, was locked in a deep conversation with costume designer Rudy Mance<\/strong> at the after-party. \u201cWe were just talking about all the hard work that went into it,\u201d Pidgeon says, still clutching her colleague\u2019s arm. \u201cFrom cast to creatives and crew, there wasn\u2019t a moment that our foot wasn\u2019t on the gas.\u201d<\/p>\n The team had to move quickly\u2014especially Mance, who was brought on to the series after production had already begun. He was hired to fix Carolyn\u2019s look after initial test shots of Pidgeon in character were torn apart on X and Instagram. \u201cThere\u2019s no two other people, aside from her and I, that experienced what it was like to find this character through the clothes,\u201d says Mance. \u201cTo really find who she was, and the story that we wanted to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n
