Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold<\/strong><\/a> gave his honest assessment of Bad Bunny<\/strong><\/a> being chosen as Super Bowl 60 halftime performer amid a swirl of conversation about the rapper\u2019s selection.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s unbelievable,\u201d Darnold, 28, said at Super Bowl Opening Night<\/a> on Monday, February 2. \u201cI love his music. It\u2019s great to have him perform at the Super Bowl.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Darnold will be in the locker room during the performance, as his Seahawks face off against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI wish that I could see it,\u201d Darnold added. \u201cBut I\u2019m afraid I\u2019ll be getting ready for the second half at that moment. But I know a lot of people are excited about him performing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba<\/strong> admitted he was bad with song titles and was unable to name his favorite Bad Bunny track, but expressed similar excitement about the Puerto Rican musician\u2019s appearance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI listen to his music,\u201d Smith-Njigba, 23, told reporters<\/a> on Monday night.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n NFL commissioner Roger Goodell<\/strong> addressed the upcoming halftime show<\/a> from Bad Bunny, who Goodell, 66, called \u201cone of the great artists in the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThis platform is used to unite people and to be able to bring people together with their creativity, with their talents, and to be able to use this moment to do that,\u201d Goodell told reporters. \u201cI think artists in the past have done that. I think Bad Bunny understands that. I think he\u2019ll have a great performance.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While there is much excitement about Bad Bunny hitting the Super Bowl stage, a poll released this week by The Athletic<\/i> showed that nearly half of the NFL\u2019s players<\/a> aren\u2019t quite so enthused.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In a survey published on Monday, February 2, 41.4 percent of players said they did not \u201clike\u201d Bad Bunny being selected as halftime performer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t even know who Bad Bunny is,\u201d an anonymous offensive NFC player said. \u201cI always think it should be an American. I think they\u2019re trying too hard with this international stuff.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Contrary to that player\u2019s line of thinking, Bad Bunny is from Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory of the United States.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI think there are better examples of character and morality than Bad Bunny,\u201d an anonymous AFC offensive player said.<\/span><\/p>\n Another anonymous NFC offensive player advocated for \u201canyone who\u2019s synonymous with football and football culture. I feel like there\u2019s tons of artists out there who are fans of the game.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
