Jason Bateman<\/strong><\/a> is getting some criticism online after a new episode of his podcast features him and his co-hosts awkwardly pressing Charli xcx<\/strong><\/a> about why she doesn\u2019t want kids.<\/p>\n In the episode, which started streaming on Monday (February 2), Charli<\/strong>, 33, is a guest on Jason<\/strong>\u2018s Smartless<\/a><\/em> podcast with co-hosts Will Arnett<\/strong><\/a> and Sean Hayes<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n At one point they\u2019re talking about growing up and Charli<\/strong> being an only child. <\/p>\n Jason<\/strong>, 57, then asks her if that influences how many kids she wants to have, wondering if she wants to \u201chave more than one kid\u201d or maybe one who \u201chas the same sort of experience as you?\u201d<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In response, the \u201cGirl, So Confusing\u201d singer said: \u201cI actually don\u2019t want to have kids.\u201d<\/p>\n Sean<\/strong>, 55, chimed in immediately to ask her, \u201cYou don\u2019t? Wait, why?\u201d Though a few seconds later he followed up with, \u201cIt\u2019s none of my business.\u201d<\/p>\n But Charli<\/strong> responded thoughtfully, saying she likes the \u201cfantasy of having a child, like naming it, it sounds so fun, but like that is exactly a sign to me to why I should not have one, the fact that that feels like the coolest part about it and like, maybe I\u2019m not ready, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n However, from there, things get awkward as Jason<\/strong> started telling a story about how his own wife, Amanda Anka<\/strong>, supposedly didn\u2019t want children before she met him. Now they have two daughters. <\/p>\n He suggests that she \u201cmight find somebody\u201d who will change her mind, too.<\/p>\n To which Charli<\/strong> replied, \u201cWell, I\u2019m married.\u201d She and her husband George Daniel<\/strong><\/a> held two weddings last year, one in London<\/a>, and another in Italy<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Ozark<\/em> star then joked that he needed to \u201cread a newspaper,\u201d but Charli<\/strong> did come to his rescue a bit, saying she understood where he was going with his anecdote.<\/p>\n Jason<\/strong> followed up with another joke that maybe she will want a kid with her \u201cnext husband.\u201d <\/p>\n A fan posted an audio clip of the exchange on X\/Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n Charli<\/strong> is far from the only celeb who has said she doesn\u2019t want kids.
