Jason Segel was thrilled to work with his “idol” Michael J. Fox<\/a> in Shrinking.<\/p>\n

Jason Segel got the chance to work with his ‘idol’ Michael J. Fox in Shrinking<\/p>\n

The 46-year-old actor has revealed that he was honoured to share the screen with the Back to the Future star in the third season of the Apple TV+ series as he tried to model his career on Fox’s approach of combining TV and movie roles.<\/p>\n

Jason told ScreenRant: “When we heard that Michael J. Fox<\/a> was going to appear on this show, I think we all felt really honoured. He’s an idol of mine.<\/p>\n

“There was a period when me and my crew – it’s 20 years ago now for me – but when I was doing a TV show and trying to make movies at the same time, and it’s scary and exhausting, and we would literally say to each other, ‘Hey, Michael J. Fox<\/a> did it.’ We would say it all the time.”<\/p>\n

Jason described how he “got to tell” Fox how much he meant to him through their work on the show.<\/p>\n

\nThe How I Met Your Mother star recalled: “I got to say like, ‘Hey, I want you to know, in a period when I was trying to figure out what I could do with this job, you were like our true north.’<\/p>\n

\n“It was really cool to get to say that to him.”<\/p>\n

\nHollywood legend Harrison Ford also appears in Shrinking and Segel is amazed at how “handsome” the Star Wars icon is at the age of 83.<\/p>\n

\nHe told The Hollywood Reporter: “I was just doing a little bit of ADR [Automated Dialogue Replacement] and Harrison Ford came on screen. “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, he\u2019s so handsome.’ (Laughs)<\/p>\n

\n“It\u2019s really insane to me that at 83 years old, if I was in a bar and it was between me and Harrison, I would still choose Harrison. The guy is so amazing, and so is the vulnerability with which he explores getting older.”<\/p>\n

\nMeanwhile, Michael Urie – who also appears in the comedy-drama – recently described how Harrison’s “cantankerous” public person is merely “an act”.<\/p>\n

\nHe told People magazine: “He’s silly and makes work fun. He loves being [on set], he really, really loves being there.<\/p>\n

\n“I know he seems cantankerous on the red carpet, [but] that\u2019s just an act. He\u2019s actually very sweet, and he loves being there.”<\/p>\n
