31 January 2026<\/time>\n <\/p>\nDwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s daughter Simone is retiring from the ring.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nPhoto: Getty Images<\/p>\nThe 24-year-old wrestler – who used the name Ava Raine for the combat sport – carried on her family’s tradition by joining WWE in 2020, becoming the fourth generation to do so, but she has made the “very difficult” decision to bow out.<\/p>\nIn a statement on Friday (30.01.26), she said: \u201cThis past Tuesday was my last appearance on NXT and subsequently WWE.<\/p>\n\u201cThank you to all who have cheered, watched, and supported me through my journey.\u201d<\/p>\nSimone added: \u201cWhile my decision to not renew my contract was very difficult, it’s also new turning point in my life.<\/p>\n\n\u201cIt has been an honor and a privilege to be Ava.\u201d<\/p>\n\nExactly why she called it quits isn’t clear.<\/p>\n\nMonths prior to the news, her wrestler-turned-actor father gushed over how proud he was of his eldest child for making a name for herself in the ring.<\/p>\n\nStruggling to hold back his tears, he told MTV UK: \u201cI’m so proud of her.<\/p>\n\n\u201cI’m so proud becuase it\u2019s what I did, and I loved what I did, love wrestling. I grew up in wrestling. She was born into it, too, just like I was. And she said, \u2018Hey, I want to do what you do.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\nHe went on: \u201cI get emotional because she’s like, \u2018I want to do what you do but I want to carve my own path.’<\/p>\n\n\u201cAnd that’s a difference that was a big deal that I heard that.\u201d<\/p>\n\nThe Rock – who had Simone with ex-wife Dany Garcia – added: \u201cIt gave me a profound sense of pride.
