Way back when in the 2010s (if you can even remember<\/em> such a time), the world was universally charmed by Jennifer Lawrence<\/strong>\u2019s seeming inability to come off as anything other than honest<\/a> in an interview,<\/a> meaning we should accept her response to a recent question at face value. When asked by Variety<\/em><\/a> if she\u2019d have any interest in grabbing her bow and arrow once more to play the part of The Hunger Games<\/em> hero Katniss Everdeen, there wasn\u2019t much prevarication.\u00a0<\/p>\n The 32-year-old’s response was not a \u201cGee, I\u2019m not so sure it would make sense\u201d or even an \u201cI\u2019d have to look at the script,\u201d but rather an \u201cOh, my God\u2014totally!\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cIf Katniss ever could ever come back into my life, 100 percent,\u201d she said, then added, \u201cMy producing partner just clutched her heart.\u201d (Whether that\u2019s a happy clutch or an \u201coh, God, what is she saying<\/em>???\u201d clutch is open to debate!)<\/p>\n Lawrence is making the rounds in promotion of her forthcoming comedy No Hard Feelings<\/em>, a comedy in which a young woman accepts a proposition put forth by Matthew Broderick<\/strong> and Laura Benanti<\/strong> to \u201cdate\u201d their socially awkward son (Andrew Barth Feldman<\/strong>). Perhaps you saw the eyebrow-raising red band trailer<\/a>, or one of the many enthusiastic reactions<\/a>. The film was directed and co-written by Gene Stupnitsky<\/strong>, whose past credits include writing and directing episodes of The Office<\/em>, co-writing and\/or directing the films Bad Teacher<\/em> and Good Boys<\/em>, co-creating the recent success Jury Duty<\/em>, and co-writing the somewhat overlooked Harold Ramis picture Year One<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n The Oscar-winning actress (with three additional nominations) appeared in four films based on Suzanne Collins<\/strong>\u2019s blockbuster YA trilogy The Hunger Games<\/em> from 2012 through 2015. The combined gross totaled nearly $3 billion, according to box office data site The Numbers<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n In November last year, director Francis Lawrence<\/strong>, who helmed all but the first Hunger Games<\/em>, finished production on a prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes<\/em>, based on Collins\u2019s 2020 novel. The new film was shot in Germany and Poland, and stars Tom Blyth<\/strong> as a young version of future baddie Cornelius Snow (played later in life by Donald Sutherland<\/strong>) and Rachel Zegler<\/strong> as a tribute from District 12, much like Katniss will one day be. Jason Schwartzman<\/strong>, Viola Davis<\/strong>, Peter Dinklage<\/strong>, Hunter Schafer<\/strong>, and Burn Gorman<\/strong> are also in the mix.\u00a0<\/p>\n But you know who isn\u2019t? Jennifer Lawrence. Maybe there\u2019s time to shoot some quick \u201cvision of the future\u201d dream sequence or something?<\/p>\n As of right now, Songbirds and Snakes<\/em> is not being molded in such a way as to kick off a new series. \u201cUnless Suzanne writes another one, it’s a stand-alone,\u201d Lawrence said in a recent interview with Collider<\/a>. \u201cWe did it as one. We didn’t split it. It’s one long movie.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n But if the picture, which comes out in mid-November, is a hit, it may get the typewriter keys clacking. With J-Law not dismissing any future involvement, the odds are ever in their favor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
