Sydney Sweeney<\/strong><\/a><\/span> is ready to talk about dating in the public eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was in a relationship for a very long time, for seven and a half years, and I never talked about it. I was very private,\u201d Sweeney, 28, shared about her fizzled romance with ex-fianc\u00e9 Jonathan Davino<\/span><\/a><\/strong> in an interview with Cosmopolitan<\/i><\/span><\/a> published on Thursday, January 29. \u201cNo one would ever see us. I think it\u2019s important to have some things for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Euphoria<\/i> actress and businessman, 42, got engaged in March 2022 before ultimately calling off their engagement<\/span><\/a> in March 2025.<\/p>\n

At the time, a source<\/span><\/a> exclusively told Us Weekly<\/i> that Sweeney was \u201creally focused on her career\u201d before adding that Davino \u201cwishes they were able to spend more quality time together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSydney Sweeney and fianc\u00e9 Jonathan Davino have kept their romance under the radar. Though the pair \u2013 who were first romantically linked in 2018 \u2013 have kept their relationship mostly out of the spotlight, Sweeney has given fans a glimpse of their romance through rare outings, interviews and more over the years. \u201cI don\u2019t date [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When the couple were together, they would rarely be photographed and tried to keep their love story away from the public eye.<\/p>\n

\u201cI understand that I\u2019m a public person, but I\u2019m still in my 20s. I\u2019m still figuring out love, and it\u2019s hard to do that with millions of people who have their own opinions of what that looks like,\u201d she explained in her latest interview. \u201cAt the same time, for all of my 20s, I put my head down and focused on work \u2014 and now I want to experience things. But it\u2019s hard deciding that I want to experience love in the public eye. I\u2019m just navigating it all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Most recently, Sweeney was linked<\/a> to Scooter Braun<\/strong> after the pair were spotted walking around Venice, Italy, before attending Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez\u2019s wedding in June 2025.<\/p>\n

While she didn\u2019t discuss Braun, 44, directly in her latest interview, she pushed back on various dating rumors.<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes I\u2019ll think that I can do a normal thing and have a date in a normal way, and then it gets perceived in a very non-normal way. It\u2019s kind of sad,\u201d she reflected. \u201cI wake up and I find out I\u2019m dating a different guy anytime I stand in a room where there\u2019s a single man. I did a GQ<\/i> video interview and one of the questions was, \u2018Who is Sydney Sweeney dating?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know. You guys tell me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite finding success in Hollywood, Sweeney makes a case that dating as a famous person isn\u2019t for the faint of heart.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter I had a few months of just crying my eyes out, I asked all my friends, \u2018How do I do this?\u2019\u201d she shared. \u201cI\u2019ve never dated before. I\u2019ve never even used a dating app. My friends who aren\u2019t in the industry are like, \u2018We\u2019ll just go out and meet someone.\u2019 But I can\u2019t just meet someone at a bar. It doesn\u2019t work like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
