Season 4 of Bridgerton<\/em><\/a> tapped Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> for an important scene between Benedict and Sophie.<\/p>\n

The hit Netflix series returned on Thursday, January 29, with Julia Quinn<\/strong>\u2018s book An Offer From a Gentleman<\/em> serving as inspiration for Benedict\u2019s (Luke Thompson)<\/strong> love story with Sophie (Yerin Ha<\/strong>). After meeting at his mother\u2019s ball, Benedict searched for the mysterious woman and ultimately ended up at the Li household.<\/p>\n

Sophie, who is a maid for the household, watched on as Benedict interacted with Posy (Isabella Wei<\/strong>) thinking she was the woman who he met at the ball. Swift\u2019s \u201cEnchanted\u201d from her album Speak Now<\/em><\/a> set the scene as Sophie saw Benedict \u2014 who didn\u2019t know she existed \u2014 for the second time.<\/p>\n

The fourth installment of the regency series follows Benedict as he finally meets his match.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down \u2014 until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother\u2019s masquerade ball,\u201d Netflix\u2019s official synopsis read.<\/p>\n

When viewers last saw Benedict<\/a>, he wasn\u2019t ready to get married. Instead, Benedict explored his sexuality after having a threesome with Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New<\/strong>) and Paul Suarez (Lucas Aurelio<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Showrunner Jess Brownell<\/strong> weighed in on Benedict\u2019s future<\/a> with Sophie, telling TheWrap in June 2024, \u201cThe introduction of Sophie is definitely still in the cards, but we are going to continue to explore his fluidity. This is not the end of that story line.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brownell noted that she was \u201cvery excited\u201d to follow Benedict\u2019s upcoming love story, telling Netflix\u2019s Tudum, \u201cIt felt important for him to explore the fullness of himself before he settles down. He is someone who has big appetites, and we wanted to see him living a big life before he goes into settle-down mode. I\u2019m excited for where we\u2019re going with him in Season 4. There are a lot of things I want to say about it, but I should probably wait.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on Julia Quinn\u2018s novels of the same name, the series began with the love story of Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset (Reg\u00e9-Jean Page). Season 2 of Bridgerton told the story of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

More recently Thompson, 37, and Ha, 28, discussed taking over<\/a> as the next Bridgerton<\/em> leads.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did get on, and it is a weird kind of thing because it\u2019s not a prerequisite,\u201d Thompson told Town & Country earlier this month. \u201cChemistry in life doesn\u2019t necessarily translate into chemistry [on screen]. Actors are much more comfortable living in that make-believe world \u2014 I was probably much shyer meeting her in real life than doing the scenes.\u201d<\/p>\n
