Tim Allen<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Shifting Gears<\/em><\/a> sitcom found a creative way to poke fun at Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the Wednesday, January 28, episode of the hit ABC series, Matt (Allen) reunited with his son after Sam (Luke Macfarlane<\/strong>) returned from his job with the navy. Sam struggled to tell his father that he was trading the army in for a career in acting \u2014 but Matt ultimately came around.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the dumbest thing I have ever heard,\u201d Matt quipped. \u201cBut who knows, you might get cast as the guy who is really in the Deadpool costume. While Ryan Reynolds is getting his feet done in his trailer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shifting Gears<\/em>, which also stars Kat Dennings, Seann William Scott, Daryl \u201cChill\u201d Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins<\/strong> and Barrett Margolis,<\/strong> isn\u2019t the only show to recently throw shade at the actor<\/a>. NBC\u2019s St. Denis Medical<\/em> featured a blink-and-you-miss-it comment about Reynolds\u2019 looks in an April 2025 episode centered around an annual fundraiser where Bruce (Josh Lawson<\/strong>) attempted to win the Dancing with the Caregivers competition.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTim Allen\u2018s ABC sitcom Shifting Gears has allowed him to recruit familiar guest stars \u2014 including his former costars from Home Improvement and Last Man Standing. The hit series, which premiered in January 2025, is set in a car restoration shop opened by Allen\u2019s character, Matt. After reuniting with his estranged daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings), [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bruce wasn\u2019t thrilled, however, when Serena (Kahyun Kim<\/strong>) downvoted him as one of the judges.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t believe in giving 10s,\u201d Serena shared in a confessional. \u201cTen means you can\u2019t imagine anything better.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cLike, Ryan Gosling is the hottest man alive but is he a 10? No. He\u2019s a nine. Ryan Reynolds is a six.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reynolds, 49, took on the role of Deadpool<\/em> in 2016. He has continued to bring the titular character to life in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine. The third Deadpool<\/em> picked up six years after Deadpool 2 as Wade (Reynolds) attempted to live a normal life but was pulled into a new mission that forced him to team up with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Deadpool & Wolverine reunited Reynolds and Jackman, 57, in their Marvel roles for the first time<\/a> since 2009.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy feeling is that character works very well in two ways, one is scarcity and surprise,\u201d Reynolds shared during Variety\u2019s \u201cActors on Actors\u201d series in December 2024 while talking about the success of Deadpool & Wolverine. \u201cIt had been six years since the last one [2018\u2019s Deadpool 2], and part of the reason is that it swallows my whole life. You can\u2019t take your hand off the stick all the way through development, through postproduction into marketing and promo, and then, you kind of [stop].\u201d<\/p>\n
