It\u2019s his brain\u2019s way of coping with his current reality. (Yes, that <em>does <\/em>sound very similar to denial)<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Unexpected Journey: Emma Heming Willis on Caregiving and Resilience\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gHsjHw-JZYA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s the blessing and the curse of this,\u201d Heming summarized.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBruce never tapped in,\u201d she characterized. <\/p>\n<p>Heming continued: \u201cHe never connected the dots that he has this disease.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She expressed: \u201cAnd I\u2019m really happy about that, that he doesn\u2019t know about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are competing suggestions for dealing with memory loss. As his wife, Heming had to go over his head to get that \u2014 and then do what was best for her husband.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"instagram-media\" data-instgrm-permalink=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DS5zqniEnyL\/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;utm_campaign=loading\" data-instgrm-version=\"14\" style=\" background:#FFF; border:0; border-radius:3px; box-shadow:0 0 1px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.5),0 1px 10px 0 rgba(0,0,0,0.15); margin: 1px; max-width:540px; min-width:326px; padding:0; width:99.375%; width:-webkit-calc(100% - 2px); width:calc(100% - 2px);\"\/>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s really hard to know when Bruce\u2019s disease started and where he started to end,\u201d Heming lamented.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, it I don\u2019t really have a clear answer on that,\u201d she admitted. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think I ever will.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heming continued: \u201cAnd I know a lot of other couples that have gone through this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She explained: \u201cIt\u2019s kind of that same sort of trajectory of like you think your marriage is falling apart, you consider divorce, and then you land on finally a diagnosis where everything starts to kind of make sense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Heming highlighted that it takes \u201ca long time\u201d to get a diagnosis for FTP.
