Brooklyn Beckham<\/a>‘s wedding planner “didn’t see any tension” while helping plan his big day.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
Brooklyn Beckham and wife Nicola are estranged from his parents<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old chef released a strongly-worded statement about his famous parents, Sir David and Lady Victoria Beckham last week, in which he accused his mother of “hijacking” his first dance with Nicola Peltz Beckham, going back on plans to make his partner’s bridal gown, and his mum and dad pressuring him to “sign away the right” to his name.<\/p>\n
But Preston Bailey – who worked with Brooklyn and Nicola on their wedding for 11 months and helped throw their engagement party – admitted he is “surprised” by the star’s comments about his 2022 big day.<\/p>\n
Preston told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “It surprises me that he is taking this stand against his parents.<\/p>\n
“That\u2019s not the Brooklyn I met as far as him being this nice, gentle guy. . . He was just a nice, regular person who would say hello and chit chat.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI can tell you about my experience with Brooklyn. While we were planning, clearly as far as the details for the design, he was very much involved. I have always thought of him as a gentle, decent guy. There was never any tension.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPreston – who has counted the likes of Donald and Melania Trump, Mariah Carey, Uma Thurman and Michael Douglas among his clients – dismissed speculation that Nicola is “bossy” or controlling.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cI don\u2019t remember her being bossy. I remember a lot of affection between them.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWhatever design was done was presented to Nicola, but it was important for her to have Brooklyn approve it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cShe wasn\u2019t going to do anything without his approval.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nPreston was hired in April 2021 but had to step away 11 months later after his schedule got too hectic.<\/p>\n
\nIn his Instagram statement, Brooklyn blasted his family and insisted he does “not want to reconcile\u201d with parents.<\/p>\n
\nHe wrote: “I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private.<\/p>\n
\n“Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.<\/p>\n
\n“I do not want to reconcile with my family. I\u2019m not being controlled, I\u2019m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
