Gretchen Rossi<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s return to The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em><\/a> will be a short-lived one.<\/p>\n

Gretchen, 47, is not returning for the Bravo reality show\u2019s milestone 20th season, reported Variety<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, January 27.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to representatives for Gretchen and Bravo for comment.<\/p>\n

Gretchen made her dramatic return<\/a> to RHOC<\/em> in season 19, this time in a \u201cfriend\u201d role, after five seasons as a full-time Housewife from 2008 to 2013. She also appeared as a guest during season 12 in 2017.<\/p>\n

Gretchen previously revealed how she declined to return to RHOC<\/em> three times<\/a> before finally making her comeback this past season.<\/p>\n

In a July 2025 interview on the \u201cI Do, Part 2\u201d podcast that \u201cfor a long time, it was an absolute no,\u201d citing the criticism she and fianc\u00e9 Slade Smiley<\/strong><\/a> received during her first stint.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe definitely needed that break. We got scrutinized a lot,\u201d Gretchen said. \u201cThis round, they called and approached us. When they called, I actually said, \u2018No.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI honestly said no three times. They kept making offers, and I said, \u2018No, no, no,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cFinally, they ended up making an offer that we couldn\u2019t refuse, and we felt good about. That\u2019s why we decided to finally say \u2018yes.\u2019 That\u2019s the honest truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gretchen\u2019s exit comes just weeks after Katie Ginella<\/strong> confirmed<\/a> in an Instagram post that she is leaving the show after two seasons.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter two seasons as a cast member on RHOC<\/em>, the network has decided to move forward with season 20 without me,\u201d Katie wrote via Instagram on January 9. \u201cWhile disappointing, it\u2019s not entirely surprising after seeing how season 19 played out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katie continued, \u201cI\u2019m incredibly grateful for the love and support I received \u2014 it was seen, felt and deeply appreciated. Representation matters, and I\u2019m proud to have shown up authentically, even when it wasn\u2019t easy. This chapter may be closing, but my voice and my story don\u2019t end here. Love, Katie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aside from Katie and Gretchen, Variety<\/em> reports that the rest of the season 19 cast is expected to return for the show\u2019s landmark 20th season, including Tamra Judge<\/strong>, Gina Kirschenheiter<\/strong>, Heather Dubrow<\/strong>, Shannon Storms Beador<\/strong>, Emily Simpson<\/strong> and Jennifer Pedranti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
