During it, she addressed the protests that have followed the deaths of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/tags\/renee-good\/\" title=\"Renee Good\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Renee Good<\/strong><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/tags\/alex-pretti\/\" title=\"Alex Pretti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Alex Pretti<\/strong><\/a> this month. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Melania<\/strong> also addressed the role that she plays in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justjared.com\/tags\/donald-trump\/\" title=\"Donald Trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s administration as his wife. <\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"hidearticle\"><em>Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><span id=\"more-2175885\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Speaking out regarding the growing tension between Department of Homeland Security agents and citizens of Minneapolis since the shootings, <strong>Melania <\/strong>called for \u201cunity.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to unify. I\u2019m calling for unity. I know my husband, the president, had a great call yesterday with the governor [Tim Walz] and the mayor [Jacob Frey]. And they\u2019re working together to make it peaceful and without riots,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Continuing, the first lady added, \u201cI\u2019m against the violence. So please if you protest, protest in peace. Sometimes he listens, sometimes he doesn\u2019t. But I am here to support him. I think it is very important to have open communication,\u201d she explained. <\/p>\n<p>Regarding her role in the White House, she said, \u201cI\u2019m very mission oriented.
