Bridget Everett<\/strong><\/a> had nothing but kind words to say about her Somebody Somewhere<\/em> costar Jeff Hiller<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen you meet Jeff, you can\u2019t help but fall in love with him. He\u2019s funny and just so charming and easy and warm,\u201d the comedian, 51, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> while promoting her HBO show Somebody Somewhere<\/em>, which was just renewed for a third season<\/a>. \u201cHe sort of feels like a warm summer night \u2026 just like exactly where you wanna be, sitting outside with your feet kicked up and a glass of wine, bathed in the light of Jeff Hiller. It\u2019s perfect.\u201d<\/p>\n Everett and Hiller star on the HBO dramedy \u2014 which premiered in January 2022 \u2014 as Sam and Joel, respectively. The pair play close friends, but in the second season, their relationship faces a speed bump<\/a> as Joel finds love with Brad (Tim Bagley<\/strong>.) The Fun Mom Dinner<\/em> star got candid about where she sees their characters\u2019 bond going in the next season.<\/p>\n \u201cThey have to evolve. \u2026 It\u2019s fun to be in that honeymoon bubble for a long time, but Joel has a new relationship and Sam has to kind of figure out how she fits into all that,\u201d she explained to Us<\/em>. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t necessarily mean because he\u2019s in love that she goes away. It\u2019s just how do you navigate that? Even though she\u2019s a little bit older, it\u2019s a good problem to have.\u201d<\/p>\n Since the show\u2019s start, Everett\u2019s character has been navigating a midlife crisis after the death of her beloved sister Darlene. The Kansas native \u2014 who also serves as an executive producer in addition to the show\u2019s star \u2014 was the inspiration for the series<\/a> itself.<\/p>\n Everett, for her part, lost her real-life sister Brinton to cancer<\/a> in 2008. She opened up to Us<\/em> about how filming the somewhat autobiographical series has been a \u201ccathartic\u201d experience as it helped her process her grief<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI know my sister would be so proud of me. And doing this show is kind of a love letter to her,\u201d she said. \u201cSo I feel like it\u2019s helped me grow and it\u2019s helped me heal and I\u2019m very happy for that.\u201d<\/p>\n While the HBO show channels certain elements of Everett\u2019s life into the plot, the Kansas native has made it clear she and her character are not identical but they do share one common interest: music. The Inside Amy Shumer<\/em> alum is also the lead singer<\/a> of her band, The Tender Moments, who plan on releasing their latest album BFD<\/em> sometime soon.<\/p>\n \u201cWe both love music and that\u2019s kind of the driving force for both of us,\u201d she recalled. \u201cSam, as small as the emotional steps that she takes are, are bigger swings than I take. So I feel like watching Sam grow and try to adapt to life as it changes is a real learning curve for me.
