AJ McLean\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> estranged wife Rochelle DeAnna McLean<\/strong> is sharing a warning with followers after unexpectedly being hospitalized.<\/p>\n

Posting via her Instagram account<\/a> on Friday, January 23, Rochelle, 44, shared a selfie from her hospital bed as she detailed a scary health experience she endured this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been one hell of [a] week over here!\u201d she captioned the post. \u201cI came to the ER Tuesday morning with an extremely bloated belly and pain on my right side of my abdomen. Thinking it was my appendix, I came to the emergency room to be sure. I ended up showing cecal volvulus in my ct scan. A twisted pinched colon.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cI basically went straight into surgery after that to have the compromised part of my colon removed and the healthy sections sewn back together again. Truly something I\u2019d
never even heard of happening.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNearly one year after announcing their separation, AJ McLean and wife Rochelle McLean are calling it quits for good. The Backstreet Boys singer, 45, shared the split news via Instagram on Monday, January 1, simply captioning the reveal with a crying emoji. \u201cAs you all know we have been separated for over a year now,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After the confronting experience, Rochelle urged her followers to trust their instincts when it comes to their own health.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I can say is listen to your body when something doesn\u2019t feel right. Had this gone on longer and untreated, the outcome could have been very different,\u201d she wrote. \u201cHoping I get to go home this evening! Take care of yourselves out there \ud83e\udd0d And also\u2026 A big thank you to the surgeons, drs and nurses who have taken such great care of me this week! My hero\u2019s \ud83e\udd29\ud83e\udd0d\u2728\u201d<\/p>\n

Rochelle\u2019s followers rushed to her comments section to send their well wishes.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh man! I\u2019m glad you are ok, how scary. Prayers for a healthy recovery love. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd\u201d wrote one, while another added, \u201cWow. I am so happy you listened to your body! Sending lots of love, positive thoughts and healing prayers \ud83e\udd70\u201d<\/p>\n

In November 2025, AJ exclusively spoke to Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> about the status of their relationship after separating in March 2023. (The pair were together for 11 years and share two daughters, Ava, who now goes by Elliott, born in 2012, and Lyric, born in 2017.)<\/p>\n

The Backstreet Boys singer, 48,\u00a0 told Us<\/em> that he and Rochelle are in a better place nearly three years after announcing their separation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re not fully back together, but we are, hands-down, the best we\u2019ve ever been,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cThere is such a love between the two of us, and we\u2019ve been through f***ing hell and back. I have put this woman through the damn wringer, and the fact that she\u2019s still here, either she\u2019s crazy or she loves me or a little bit of both.\u201d<\/p>\n
