Scott Speedman<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s character, Nick, returned to Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em><\/a> to drop an engagement revelation on Ellen Pompeo\u2019<\/strong><\/a>s Meredith.<\/p>\n

During the Thursday, January 22, episode of the hit ABC series, Nick and Meredith were waiting<\/a> for his sister Erica (Brit Morgan<\/strong>) to drop by for a visit. Nick was nervous because his sister previously battled substance abuse issues \u2014 but this time she surprised him with a baby.<\/p>\n

It turned out that Nick\u2019s sister secretly welcomed a child, which caused tension between the siblings. They fought over the secret and Erica) left but didn\u2019t take her six-week-old son with her.<\/p>\n

Nick and Meredith argued about next steps, which is how he revealed that the last time his life was in a good place Erica abandoned her daughter, Charlotte, on him. Nick recalled preparing to propose to an unnamed girlfriend before he took on the responsibility of raising Erica\u2019s then-10-year-old daughter.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhile multiple stars appeared on Grey\u2019s Anatomy for long stretches, others had one-episode stints. Demi Lovato, for example, landed a one-off part during one episode of season 6. Millie Bobby Brown, for her part, was relatively unknown when she appeared on a season 11 episode titled, \u201cI Feel the Earth Move.\u201d Thank You! You have [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cYou never mentioned that you were engaged,\u201d Meredith told Nick, who clarified that the ex \u201cleft before\u201d he could bring the topic up. He noted that the woman wasn\u2019t interested in \u201cbecoming a parent\u201d to a child at the time.<\/p>\n

Erica ultimately returned to the house and revealed she was struggling<\/a> with her sobriety. In an attempt to make amends, Nick asked Erica to stay with him and Meredith so they could help the new mom out. At the end of the episode, Nick and Meredith reflected on their own relationship while waiting for her kids \u2014 whom she shared with late husband Derek (Patrick Dempsey<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Meredith admitted she missed being around babies and Nick expressed how happy he was with the life they built together. The fictional couple, however, were in agreement that there were no plans for them to expand their family with another child.<\/p>\n

Speedman\u2019s return came after he rejoined<\/a> the cast as a recurring character in season 20 and remained on Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> since then. Speedman, 50, originally joined Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> as a guest star in season 14. He then appeared as a main cast member in seasons 18 and 19 as Meredith\u2019s love interest before taking a break from the show.<\/p>\n

\u201c[The fans] have lots of thoughts. I thought it was gonna be a layup, me coming onto the show,\u201d Speedman said on SiriusXM\u2019s The Spotlight With Jessica Shaw in October 2024. \u201cI\u2019m not a big social media guy, but I remember going on after my first episodes debuted with her, and they tease like, \u2018There\u2019s this character coming back to the show.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on Jeffery Deaver\u2018s novel The Never Game, Tracker has viewers tuning in each week to see their favorite fictional survivalist \u2014 a.k.a Colter [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He continued: \u201cAnd the fans, you know, on social media were not \u2026 There was a lot of vomit emojis, which I was like, \u2018Oh, alright, alright.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Speedman noted that all he could do<\/a> was \u201claugh at\u201d the public response, adding, \u201cIt\u2019s really funny how serious they are about that character, and who\u2019s with that character and who\u2019s not with that character.\u201d<\/p>\n
