Elaine Hendrix and Lisa Ann Walter have been best friends for 28 years<\/p>\n
\nThe duo have had a strong friendship since they worked on The Parent Trap in 1997, and Lisa, 62, wants to stand by her “soulmate” forever.<\/p>\n
\nIn a joint interview with Us Weekly, she told Elaine: “I just want to be cremated and separated out a little bit, and some of it could be on the counter, like in the kitchen, where I keep my mom. <\/p>\n
\n“And then some should be at your house. But I don\u2019t want it scattered. Don\u2019t scatter my damn ashes.”<\/p>\n
\nElaine, 55, replied: “I\u2019m not scattering them, you\u2019re coming with me!”<\/p>\n
\nElsewhere, in the interview, the duo reflected on their enduring relationship – 28 years after Elaine and Lisa played rivals Meredith Blake and Chessy, respectively, in The Parent Trap.<\/p>\n
\nElaine defined their bond as “sisters” before Lisa went further with “soulmates”.<\/p>\n
\nElaine clarified that their relationship is like being “married without the romance”, before she added: “A best friend who will help you move a body.”<\/p>\n
\nThe pair sat next to each other in the waiting room for their Parent Trap screen tests in 1997, and they immediately got on like a house on fire.<\/p>\n
\nAsked when they realised there was a connection between them, Elaine said: “I think from the beginning. We just got together and talked, talked, talked\u2026”<\/p>\n
\nLisa chimed in: “Elaine and I are both actors, so we access our emotions easily \u2026 We also have a rule that neither one of us can lose our s*** at the same time. Can you believe that? We trade off on who\u2019s falling apart. “<\/p>\n
\nLisa then revealed: “We wrote a script together early on in our relationship. We were close, but when we got done writing that script, we were one. It was a girl buddy movie when they weren\u2019t doing those. We were very much before the whole Bridesmaids.”<\/p>\n
\nElaine added: “That was, like, right after Parent Trap. As a matter of fact, if anybody wants to fund it\u2026”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Lisa takes pleasure in people “responding” to her and Elaine’s decades-long friendship.<\/p>\n
\nLisa said: “One of the things that is really gratifying about our long-term relationship is people responding to it. This is not new. We didn\u2019t invent grown-ass female friendship. It\u2019s necessary.”<\/p>\n
