Angel Reese<\/strong><\/a> has landed a role on The Hunting Wives<\/em><\/a> season 2, months after publicly sharing her desire to join the cast<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reese, 23, will play Trainer Barbie on the next installment of the hit Netflix drama, set to premiere later in 2026. The name is a reference to Reese\u2019s nickname, Bayou Barbie, which she earned during her time playing at Louisiana State University from 2022 to 2024.<\/p>\n

She is now a member of the Chicago Sky, where she has spent her first two WNBA seasons breaking league rebounding records. In May 2025, she became the fastest player in league history to 500 points and 500 rebounds, accomplishing the feat in only 38 career games. She also holds the WNBA single-season records for total rebounds, rebounds per game and offensive rebounds.<\/p>\n

And while Reese has been able to do just about whatever she wants on the court, it appears the same may be true off of it. In August 2025, as Reese was making her way through The Hunting Wives<\/em> season 1, she posted via X that the show was \u201ca good watch.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe Hunting Wives is the newest TV obsession but is there a chance the scripted series is about to be developed into a reality show? Some fans certainly think so after production company Ain\u2019t That Something Entertainment put out a casting call on Tuesday, August 12, which read, \u201cA major streaming service, in partnership with [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Show creator Rebecca Cutter<\/strong> quoted her with, \u201cI am DEAD on the floor!!! thank you for watching our lil ol show @Reese10Angel !!!,\u201d causing Reese to offer her services for season 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust let me know if you need me for season 2 \ud83d\ude09,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Five months later, Reese quoted<\/a> her own post with, \u201cI literally manifest my entire life \ud83e\udd7a\ud83d\ude2d.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reese shared more via her Instagram Story, including a pair of photos outside her trailer, showing off her green Baylor Bears athletic gear \u2014 surely a jarring sight to LSU or Maryland fans, where she began her college career.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSeason 2 of The Hunting Wives is getting off to a shocking start with a surprise character getting killed off. Brittany Snow, who plays Sophie, confirmed the twist during an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Sunday, January 11, saying, \u201cSomeone dies. I won\u2019t tell you who. That is a wild play. Wild behavior.\u201d The actress, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It\u2019s not yet known how Reese\u2019s Trainer Barbie will fold into the plot of the show, but season 1 character Brad Thompson was preparing to go to Baylor on a basketball scholarship.<\/p>\n

Reese\u2019s most recent acting role came in the 2025 political thriller A House of Dynamite<\/em><\/a>, in which she portrayed herself in a scene where she shoots hoops with the President of the United States, played by Idris Elba<\/strong>. The opportunity, she said, inspired her to pursue additional acting opportunities.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to get an acting coach,\u201d she told People<\/em><\/a> in September. \u201cI was talking to Common<\/strong> \u2014 he\u2019s overseas right now shooting season 2 of Silo<\/em> \u2014 and he was telling me, \u2018You got to hire an acting coach.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cSo I\u2019m going to hire an acting coach. I model already, so it\u2019s like adding to the r\u00e9sum\u00e9. I\u2019m young right now, so I\u2019m going to do it while I\u2019m young.\u201d<\/p>\n
