Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a>\u2019 Sasha Farber<\/strong><\/a> is sharing behind-the-scenes details from the hit reality dance competition \u2014 and weighing in on ex-wife Emma Slater<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s romance with fellow pro Alan Bersten.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cListen, things don\u2019t always work out. That\u2019s life, unfortunately. And when you\u2019re with someone for so many years, it becomes family whether you\u2019re with them or you\u2019re not,\u201d Farber said of Slater on the Monday, January 19, episode of iHeartRadio\u2019s \u201cCasual Chaos\u201d<\/a> podcast.<\/p>\n Farber and Slater were married from 2018 until they called it quits in 2023<\/a>. Their divorce was finalized the following year. Us Weekly<\/em> broke the news in 2024 that Slater and Bersten were \u201chooking up.\u201d<\/a> The pair confirmed their romance <\/a>with an onstage kiss during the DWTS<\/em> live show in 2025.<\/p>\n \u201cSo at the end of the day, we\u2019re still supportive of each other,\u201d Farber continued of his and Slater\u2019s dynamic. \u201cAnd at the end of the day, I want her to be happy. And I wish them nothing but the best. And it\u2019s amazing. It\u2019s happening. It\u2019s not like you\u2019re forcing anything.\u201d<\/p>\n Farber shared that DWTS<\/em> has \u201cprobably got a better track record than a lot of dating shows out there,\u201d noting that \u201cyou definitely build bonds\u201d and can \u201cbypass everything.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI hate dating. But it takes like a sec, you got to meet the person. There\u2019s a lot that goes into when you want to find someone special,\u201d Farber noted. \u201cThis, you\u2019re just thrown in. \u2018Let\u2019s go. Hi, nice to meet you. OK, we are going to rub hips. We are going to dip. We are going to do this. I want to get in your face here. You have to really look at me.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cSo I think it\u2019s great because A) you\u2019re telling a story through dance and B) sometimes you can develop feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2023, Emma Slater shared that a disagreement about having children was the reason why she and Sasha Farber ended their marriage \u2014 something he still wants to experience.<\/p>\n \u201cI guess that\u2019s what I\u2019m searching for. And it\u2019s like \u2014 not a hard pill to swallow \u2014 but like, I think I come from such an incredible family, like I can see the way my dad loves my mom and the way my mom loves my dad. And to me, I think I want little farbies running around,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n When asked how he navigated not being on season 34 of DWTS<\/em>, Farber admitted, \u201cIt was interesting because I\u2019ve done so many seasons and it\u2019s like home.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo when I was there, it still felt like I was there. And I got to do the first two weeks of the premiere,\u201d he explained. \u201cI would be lying if I said, \u2018Oh it was easy.\u2019 But it wasn\u2019t easy because I know what I can do and my level in the sense. So it was a little hard, but at the same time, it was so rewarding to see your friends do so well and support them, and see them dance.\u201d<\/p>\n Farber went on to note that the show \u201cdidn\u2019t have a partner\u201d for him, but DWTS<\/em> did \u201coffer [him] other things.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI think, at my level, I was just like, \u2018OK, I can sit this one out and do little things here and there,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n When Sasha Farber was partnered with Snooki<\/strong> on season 17, he was \u201cconstantly on the road\u201d traveling between the west coast for the show and the east coast for her family. At one point, Farber said the pair had two weeks in Los Angeles and Snooki decided she was not going to travel \u2014 to which he received a message from her dad.<\/p>\n \u201cHer dad calls me, he\u2019s like, \u2018Make sure you look after her.\u2019 I was like, \u2018I got her. Don\u2019t worry.\u2019 Rehearsal starts, she\u2019s a little late. I was like, \u2018Snooks, where are you?\u2019 Her name is Nicole. I was like, \u2018Nicole, where are you?\u2019 And she\u2019s like, \u2018I\u2019m coming. I\u2019m sorry, I\u2019m a little late.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Farber recalled hearing noises in the background of the call as he waited for Snooki to arrive for more than an hour. When she showed up to rehearsal, she walked in with Jenni \u201cJWoww\u201d Farley<\/strong> and announced the pair got tattoos.<\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018Her dad\u2019s going to kill me,\u2019\u201d Farber said. \u201cBut she was just so much fun.\u201d<\/p>\n Sasha Farber said that he and former partner Selma Blair<\/strong> \u201chave each other\u2019s backs,\u201d noting that he recently went to check in on her after not receiving a text message or phone call back from her.
