Marty Supreme unexpectedly rekindled Gwyneth Paltrow<\/a>‘s love for acting.<\/p>\n

Gwyneth Paltrow stars in 2025’s Marty Supreme – her first major acting role in six years<\/p>\n

The 53-year-old actress “lost touch with the world of cinema” after taking a temporary break to focus on her lifestyle brand Goop, but after starring in the 2025 ping pong drama – her first major acting role in six years – Gwyneth wants to star in more movies.<\/p>\n

The star – who has daughter Apple, 21, and son Moses, 19, with her 48-year-old ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin<\/a> – explained in the new issue of WHO magazine that her career has gone through chapters: “In my 20s and until I had my daughter, my dream was cinema. <\/p>\n

“Then I had this beautiful dream of parenthood, which still goes on, and then an entrepreneurial dream.<\/p>\n

“Funnily enough, and quite unexpectedly, a dream returned around cinema again, which I wasn’t sure was ever going to come back until I heard about this film.<\/p>\n

\n“It’s very hard to keep all of the balls in the air at once.”<\/p>\n

\nHowever, Gwyneth has zero regrets about taking an acting break to focus on Goop – which sells beauty, fashion, and wellness items.<\/p>\n

\nThe star – whose last big screen role was as Pepper Potts in Avengers: Endgame in 2019 – said: “For a number of years, I really turned my attention deeply to my life as an entrepreneur, and I lost touch with the world of cinema. <\/p>\n

\n“Maybe that was to protect myself in a way and not feel like I made a choice that made me miss out on something. But my life as an entrepreneur is extremely interesting and exhilarating. I never regretted stepping away.”<\/p>\n

\nGwyneth was tempted to do Marty Supreme because filming fell when she had an “empty nest” with her children away at college, and in a location close to where they are studying.<\/p>\n

\nWorking with Josh Safdie, the 41-year-old director of Marty Supreme – in which her character, faded Hollywood actress Kay Stone, prepares for a film comeback of her own, and strikes up a sexual relationship with aspiring table tennis player Marty Mauser (Timothee Chalamet) – also helped to make it an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

\nAnd Gwyneth – who has been married to 54-year-old TV writer-and-director Brad Falchuk since 2018 – will only star in more movies if the projects are “really special” and worthwhile like Marty Supreme.<\/p>\n

\nAsked if she is “officially unretired now”, Gwyneth replied: “I am more open to doing other films if it could be an experience like this one, which I felt was really special – one that I will cherish going forward. We’ll see what comes next…”<\/p>\n
