The previous installment in the series opened in June 2025 to $30 million, so this is a definite step down from that box office result. Unfortunately, this is also the most expensive film in the series yet, costing about $63 million to produce.<\/p>\n<p><b>Avatar: Fire and Ash<\/b> held on to first place with $14.2 million. The film has already made $367.5 million domestically and $1.3 billion worldwide, but its legs are not as good as those of the first two films in the series, which ended up making $2.9 billion and $2.3 billion.<\/p>\n<p><b>Zootopia 2 <\/b>came in third place with $9 million in its eighth weekend of release, while <b>The Housemaid<\/b> followed closely behind with $8.5 million. <b>The Housemaid<\/b> only cost $35 million but has made $108.7 million domestically and $247.3 million globally, a fantastic result for a mid-budget film.<\/p>\n<p>In fifth place was <b>Marty Supreme <\/b>with $5.4 million, bringing its domestic total to $80.8 million and surpassing <b>Everything Everywhere All At Once<\/b> as A24&#8217;s top grossing film in North America.
