Loretta Jean Palmer Finley<\/strong>, who passed away just two years before the divorce. \u201cTwo of the most tragic things in my life that happened\u2014I did not process or even stop to really think about,\u201d she admitted.<\/p>\nDuring this time, Tish turned to cannabis to cope with her grief over her mother and her relationship. \u201cI\u2019ve been very open that I was a major weed smoker. For that, because I\u2019ve always had a little bit of anxiety, that was almost like medicine for me,\u201d she said. She acknowledged that she was \u201cself-medicating in some ways\u201d and didn\u2019t even realize it at the time.<\/p>\n
When Tish quit smoking cannabis in 2024, the suppressed emotions she\u2019d been avoiding hit her all at once. \u201cI do think it kind of numbed all that pain and then I stopped smoking and all of a sudden a week later, I\u2019m just in full-on anxiety to the point of not functioning,\u201d she recalled. \u201cIt was the roughest thing I\u2019d ever gone through.\u201d<\/p>\n
Over a year later, Tish says she\u2019s learning to manage her anxiety. \u201cI\u2019m so much better,\u201d she emphasized. \u201cLike, I was not functioning for that year, I was just trying to survive. Now, I\u2019m completely on the other side of that. I\u2019m learning to control it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tish filed for divorce from Billy Ray, 64, in April 2022 after 29 years of marriage, citing \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d in court documents. She had not lived with the country singer since February 2020.<\/p>\n
Through time and therapy, she finally feels like she\u2019s on the road to healing. \u201cWhen I started therapy, and I really started talking about my life and moving out here and my kids in the business and, what my life had been, they were like, \u2018Wow,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Now, Tish has found love with her new husband, Dominic Purcell<\/strong>, whom she married in August 2023. \u201cIt was so safe,\u201d she shared. \u201cThere was just no drama. I think it gave me this place to stand still and, like, feel all these feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
