Netflix is increasing its investment in video podcasts<\/a>, with its latest projects featuring famous comedian Pete Davidson and Cowboys Hall-of-Famer Michael Irvin.<\/p>\n The streaming giant announced<\/a> on Wednesday two original video podcasts coming to the platform: Irvin\u2019s \u201cThe White House<\/a>,\u201d streaming on January 19, and \u201cThe Pete Davidson Show,\u201d debuting on January 30.\u00a0<\/p>\n Both series, available only to Netflix subscribers, are designed to leverage the star power of their hosts. Davidson already has two comedy specials on the service that have performed well for the streamer. Meanwhile, Irvin stands out as a prominent figure in the sports world and was a big focus in Netflix\u2019s documentary series \u201cAmerica\u2019s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.\u201d His new show is likely to appeal to the millions of football fans who already subscribe to the service.<\/p>\n Davidson\u2019s show will feature candid, behind-the-scenes conversations with friends from his own garage, airing every Friday, while Irvin\u2019s show will deliver in-depth sports news, analysis, and commentary twice a week, joined by notable guest co-hosts like former NFL All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall.\u00a0<\/p>\n These originals will join Netflix\u2019s growing slate of video podcasts, alongside licensed titles from iHeartMedia<\/a>, Spotify<\/a>, and Barstool Sports such as \u201cDear Chelsea,\u201d \u201cMy Favorite Murder,\u201d and \u201cThe Ringer.\u201d Notably, as part of these licensing agreements, these shows aren\u2019t available in full on YouTube.\u00a0<\/p>\n Wednesday\u2019s news comes at a time when Netflix is increasingly trying to challenge YouTube\u2019s dominance in the podcast space, with viewers watching over 700 million hours<\/a> of podcasts per month on living room devices in 2025.<\/p>\n However, Netflix is still in the early stages of developing its podcast library.
