\t\t<\/p>\n A dog beat out some of this year\u2019s most acclaimed horror movie performances.<\/p>\n At the 9th Annual Astra Film Awards, Indy the Dog<\/strong> took home the win for Best Performance in a Horror or Thriller for his role in the film Good Boy<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span> <\/p>\n He was up against Ethan Hawke<\/strong><\/a> (Black Phone 2<\/em>), Alison Brie<\/strong><\/a> (Together<\/em>), Alfie Williams<\/strong><\/a> (28 Years Later<\/em>), Sally Hawkins<\/strong><\/a> (Bring Her Back<\/em>), and Sophie Thatcher<\/strong><\/a> (Companion<\/em>).<\/p>\n Good Boy<\/em> director and Indy<\/strong>\u2018s owner Ben Leonberg<\/strong> accepted the award on his dog\u2019s behalf, per Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em>, and delivered his speech in a pre-recorded message.<\/p>\n \u201cHi, I\u2019m Ben Leonberg<\/strong>, the director of Good Boy<\/em> here with my dog, the goodest boy himself. On behalf of Indy<\/strong>, we are so thrilled to be recognized for his work in a movie he does not totally understand he was in,\u201d said the filmmaker.<\/p>\n Ben<\/strong> described the genre overall as one that is \u201cfueled by originality and reinvention, and by audiences who are the most eager to see something new\u201d as well as the one that really allows for the most experimentation.<\/p>\n \u201cIndy<\/strong> is honored to accept this award \u2014 especially knowing that he\u2019s standing in alongside performers who didn\u2019t even need to be bribed in order to hit their marks,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n \n
