Ethan Walker<\/strong>, an offensive lineman on the Iowa Central Community College football<\/a> team, died on January 4<\/a> while on vacation. He was 20.<\/p>\n

Though his cause of his death has not been revealed, Walker died after suffering a \u201csudden medical event,\u201d according to a GoFundMe<\/a> page set up to support his family and bring his body from Orlando, Florida, where he died.<\/p>\n

The redshirt freshman was on vacation with his girlfriend, Kenzie McClelland<\/strong>, and her family at the time. Walker and McClelland were high school sweethearts, and the GoFundMe said that he had grown close to her family over the years, \u201chaving been such a loving and devoted partner who honored their daughter with every action.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cEthan was a giant in every sense\u2014a 6\u20195\u201d, 310-lb offensive lineman for the Iowa Central Tritons, working toward a goal of playing major college football,\u201d the GoFundMe page reads. \u201cBut as much as he was known for his strength on the field, he was defined by his giant heart for his family, his friends, his faith, and his community.\u201d<\/p>\n

The page continues, \u201cWhile his mother Sara<\/strong>, stepfather Jeff<\/strong>, and older brother Jordan<\/strong> remain in Florida to navigate the agonizing process of bringing him home, his father John, his younger brother Luke<\/strong>, and his grandparents Jack<\/strong> and Jackie Morrison<\/strong> wait in Iowa with heavy hearts to say their final goodbyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

Money raised via GoFundMe will cover the cost of transporting Walker home, as well as emergency travel, lodging and funeral services.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeyond these immediate needs, any additional funds will be used to honor Ethan\u2019s memory and preserve his legacy through memorial projects and tributes as determined by his mother, Sara,\u201d the GoFundMe explains.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an unbelievably hard time for anyone who has been touched by this great young man,\u201d his coach, Jesse Montalto<\/strong>, wrote via X<\/a> on Tuesday, January 6. \u201cEthan was a great person that embodied everything we represent at Triton Nation. Our hearts are broken and our prayers and condolences go out to his entire family. You will be missed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Clark died at an Orlando-area hospital on Sunday, September 21, with his wife of 17 years, Jonelle Clark, by his side, according to the university. The Tritons\u2019 offensive line coach, Justice Clegg<\/strong>, added in a post of his own, \u201cAbsolutely heartbroken right now and don\u2019t have the words. But need to get this out for people that love him and don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Walker appeared in four games for the 2025 Tritons, who went 8-4 with a win in the Game One Bowl. Before his time at Iowa Central, Walker was a basketball and football player at Grinnell High School.<\/p>\n
