{"id":216184,"date":"2026-01-12T14:15:22","date_gmt":"2026-01-12T14:15:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/12\/3-overlooked-2025-movies-you-should-stream-in-january-2026-fight-or-flight-and-more\/"},"modified":"2026-01-12T14:15:22","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T14:15:22","slug":"3-overlooked-2025-movies-you-should-stream-in-january-2026-fight-or-flight-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/entertainment.runfyers.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/12\/3-overlooked-2025-movies-you-should-stream-in-january-2026-fight-or-flight-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"3 Overlooked 2025 Movies You Should Stream in January 2026: Fight or Flight and More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>2025 was a hectic year for a lot of people.<\/p>\n<p>Our jobs or personal lives can sometimes hinder us from watching movies we\u2019d otherwise line up to see.<\/p>\n<p>Streamers like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/media-network\/netflix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Netflix<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/media-network\/paramount\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paramount+<\/a> and Mubi allow <em>Us<\/em> to watch high-profile films we may have missed the first time around at the multiplex.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/watch-with-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Watch With Us<\/a> has compiled a brief list of three great 2025 movies you may have overlooked last year: the action comedy <em>Caught Stealing<\/em>, the airplane thriller <em>Fight or Flight<\/em> and the delicate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/josh-oconnor-talks-spitting-in-paul-mescals-mouth-in-the-history-of-sound\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Josh O\u2019Connor<\/strong> drama <em>The History of Sound<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"CAUGHT STEALING \u2013 Official Trailer (HD)\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6mIvD-GN-p4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m on a big \u201890s nostalgia kick lately, so I eagerly accepted all of what <em>Caught Stealing<\/em>, <strong>Darren Aronofsky<\/strong>\u2019s massively appealing new movie set in Giuliani-era New York City, had to offer. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/austin-butler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Austin Butler<\/strong><\/a> plays Hank, a former baseball player-turned-bartender who cat-sits for his punk next-door neighbor, Russ (<strong>Matt Smith<\/strong>), while he travels to London. When two Russian mobsters come looking for a mysterious key he knows nothing about, Hank has to find it fast or lose an organ or two \u2014 and maybe his life. Even if he does find it, will these mobsters let him or his girlfriend, Yvonne (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/zoe-kravitz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Zo\u00eb Kravitz<\/strong><\/a>), walk away unharmed?<\/p>\n<p><em>Caught Stealing<\/em> was ignored by audiences when it was released last August, even though everyone is begging for more original movies. Oh, well, at least you can discover all of its subtle charms on streaming. Butler showcases just why <em>Elvis<\/em> and <em>The Bikeriders<\/em> made him a star, and Aronofsky regains some of his filmmaking mojo after his dour 2022 drama, <em>The Whale<\/em>. <em>Caught Stealing<\/em> is one of those effortlessly entertaining movies that actually takes a lot of effort to get made and seen. Do yourself a favor \u2014 watch it and realize what we\u2019re missing at the multiplexes.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Fight or Flight - Exclusive Clip (2025) Josh Hartnett, Charithra Chandran\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6fQDINCJM-U?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/m-night-shyamalan-talks-josh-hartnetts-approach-to-spooky-trap-role\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Trap<\/em><\/a> did OK at the box office in 2024, but it wasn\u2019t a big enough success to vault <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/josh-hartnett\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Josh Hartnett<\/strong><\/a> back into the major leagues again. That\u2019s a pity, as the <em>Oppenheimer<\/em> actor has plenty of untapped charisma left in the tank for a wide variety of roles in big pictures. Even in a B-movie like <em>Fight or Flight<\/em>, Hartnett is mesmerizing as Lucas Reyes, a former Secret Service agent who is called back into action by his former lover, Katherine (<strong>Katee Sackhoff<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>She needs him to board a plane from Bangkok to San Francisco to locate Ghost, a mysterious hacker whom everyone wants dead. Some of Lucas\u2019 fellow passengers are assassins in disguise, and he has to find out who they are and stop them before they kill their target.<\/p>\n<p><em>Fight or Flight<\/em> sounds an awful lot like <em>Bullet Train<\/em> with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/brad-pitt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Brad Pitt<\/strong><\/a>, but this action movie is far less insufferable about its pop culture influences and more gritty and violent. The story is absurd, but Hartnett\u2019s performance holds it all together. During their journey, the two friends catch up, bond and gradually realize they\u2019ve fallen in love with each other. Don\u2019t get Us wrong: Frankenstein, Hamnet, One Battle After Another and the rest of the other Oscar-buzz crowd absolutely deserve their moment, but sometimes [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>That\u2019s just part of the story of <em>The History of Sound<\/em>, a beautifully made movie that\u2019s kinda like a cross between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/inside-brokeback-mountains-heath-ledger-jake-gyllenhaal-set-clash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Brokeback Mountain<\/em><\/a> and <em>Call Me by Your Name<\/em>. It\u2019s a love story that\u2019s more sweet than bitter, with two sensitive lead performances from Mescal and O\u2019Connor. While some may find it a little too slow, I enjoyed its leisurely pacing \u2014 it allows you to soak up the rich atmosphere<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/3-overlooked-2025-movies-you-should-stream-in-january-2026-fight-or-flight-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2025 was a hectic year for a lot of people.
