Olympian Shawn Johnson East<\/strong><\/a> experienced a major body transformation while completing the Special Forces: World\u2019s Toughest Test <\/i><\/a>course.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was about an hour after I crossed the \u2018finish line\u2019 and got to finally go to a hotel,\u201d Johnson East, 33, captioned a Friday, January 9, selfie via her Instagram Stories that was taken after the show wrapped. \u201cI had lost about 10-15 pounds<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson East further noted that she was \u201ccovered in bruises\u201d and had \u201c10 layers of dirt and mud soaked into\u201d her skin.<\/p>\n

The retired Olympic gymnast and her husband, former NFL player Andrew East<\/strong>, both competed on Special Forces <\/i>season 4, which aired on Fox late last year. Andrew, 34, was eliminated just shy of the final round of selection, leaving his wife and Bravo personality Gia Giudice<\/strong> in the end. (In addition to Andrew, Kody Brown<\/strong> and Brianna \u201cChickenfry\u201d LaPaglia<\/strong> were also eliminated ahead of the finale.)<\/p>\n

The Olympic gymnast, 31, won individual gold on balance beam and silver for her floor routine at the 2008 Olympic Games, taking home the silver medal with the rest of Team USA women\u2019s artistic gymnastics team for their performance in Beijing. \u201cBeing able to have a happy ending to all the hardship helped us repaint a lot of the hard moments and make them feel worth it,\u201d Shawn exclusively told Us Weekly <\/i>in November 2025<\/a> of her victory. \u201cI would say for Kody and Brianna and Andrew, that\u2019s really hard. They had to go through all this torture and all this interrogation and not have the reward of being told they did a good job or they earned or deserved.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Andrew left the Specials Forces <\/i>camp <\/i>upon his elimination, he reunited with Shawn shortly after she passed selection.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are each other\u2019s biggest fans and cheerleaders and teammates. Coming across that finish line, he was so happy for me and so ecstatic,\u201d she recalled to Us. <\/i>\u201cI could also see the disappointment and the sadness in him. As his biggest cheerleader, it was this interesting shared moment of, \u2018I just wanted to hug him and help him process this moment,\u2019 and he just wanted to celebrate with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shawn and Andrew have been married since 2016<\/a>, going on to welcome three children together. The pair\u2019s kids \u2014 Drew, Jett and Bear \u2014 were all especially proud of their mom\u2019s reality TV victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a pretty intense show, but they were so excited to see us jump out of a helicopter. They get to see that little clip and we will show them more as it goes on,\u201d Shawn told Us <\/i>of her children\u2019s reaction to the grueling competition. \u201cMy daughter has heard people talk about it, and she\u2019s aware enough that she\u2019s like, \u2018Mommy, I want to watch the army show.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
