Kate Hudson doesn’t worry about ageing<\/p>\n
The Hollywood star will celebrate her 47th birthday in April – but Kate insists she isn’t daunted by the prospect of getting older.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on the recent praise that she’s received, Kate – who is the daughter of singer Bill Hudson and actress Goldie Hawn – told The Hollywood Reporter: “It really does feel humbling.<\/p>\n
“But I was saying to my mom the other day, \u2018People talk about age and I don\u2019t even think about it.\u2019 I don\u2019t think about time backwards. I don\u2019t long for anything behind me. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s just my nature, but my mom\u2019s very similar.”<\/p>\n
And in spite of her own successes, Kate still has to fight for all of her film projects, insisting that nothing comes easy in the movie business.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress observed that Song Sung Blue, her biographical musical drama film, initially struggled to find support from movie studios.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “You realise that there\u2019s always an uphill battle in every choice that you really believe in and has to be made.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Kate previously credited her mom Goldie Hawn for instilling her with a “fearless” attitude.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress admitted that she’s had to make some tough decisions at some points in her career – but her mom has always been a supportive influence.<\/p>\n
\nKate – who made her film debut in 1998, when she starred in the drama Desert Blue – told Variety: “Thank God I had a mom who said, \u2018Make your own way’.<\/p>\n
\n“When you become successful in the arts \u2014 and what I mean by \u2018successful\u2019 is when you\u2019re making other people a lot of money \u2014 people really like to put you in a box. But nobody becomes an artist to be put in a cage.<\/p>\n
\n“As you get older, you realise you\u2019re the only one who makes the decision not to allow yourself to be in that cage. It means having to make fearless and risk-taking decisions that are really, really hard to do when you have a status quo that\u2019s safe.”<\/p>\n
