Kim Raver<\/strong><\/a> teased what Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em><\/a> fans can expect from the rest of season 22 \u2014 and it sounds like even more big surprises are in store.<\/p>\n \u201cA couple of scripts came in [recently] and I was like, \u2018Oh, my God.\u2019 It gets messy and it is so Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em>. I just love it so much,\u201d Raver exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> before the show\u2019s return on Thursday, January 8.<\/p>\n The actress learned what is to come with the rest<\/a> of the cast.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re all reading what\u2019s happening [during a table read], and I love it,\u201d she shared. \u201cSome of us are in scrubs, some of us are in our street clothes. Then when we find out the information, it\u2019s a shock and a surprise to all of us. We are like the audience, too, and then we look at each other like, \u2018This is really happening.’\u201d<\/p>\n Raver, who has played Teddy since season 6, promised \u201creally great\u201d<\/a> Grey\u2019s Anatomy<\/em> story lines \u2014 and revealed whether she has any concerns about her character\u2019s fate.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s the life of an actor,\u201d she noted. \u201cIt\u2019s really just about trying to be present and doing the work and following the amazing story lines that the writers are given. Especially with how now we\u2019re always having these incredible cliffhangers. No one ever knows.\u201d<\/p>\n Season 22, which premiered in October 2025, picked back up after an explosion in the hospital. Teddy survived and has been navigating some major changes in her life, including her split from husband Owen<\/a> (Kevin McKidd<\/strong>) and unexpected romance with Cass (Sophia Bush<\/strong>).<\/p>\n Off screen, Raver has gotten the opportunity to direct several episodes of the show \u2014 including one coming up later this month.<\/p>\n \u201cI feel so fortunate that I have the incredible Debbie Allen as my mentor and that every time I get to direct another episode, I learn more. I have an incredible crew and this cast is amazing. This particular episode [titled \u2018Fortunate Son\u2019] is much more condensed and really follows three of our main characters,\u201d Raver teased. \u201cIt\u2019s Meredith and Nick focused \u2014 as well as Richard focused.
