Feuds as wild as the jungle. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has never been afraid to call out celebrities for their actions towards wildlife and pets.<\/p>\n
Pete Davidson<\/strong><\/a> caught slack from the nonprofit organization in June 2023 after he was seen buying a cavapoo puppy<\/a> from a pet store with girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders<\/strong><\/a>. At the time, PETA\u2019s senior vice president of cruelty investigations, Daphna Nachminovitch<\/strong>, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> that the Saturday Night Live alum\u2019s decision to purchase his pet rather than adopt was \u201ctragic\u201d because \u201ca scrappy New Yorker with charm, personality and unconventional handsomeness could have been his perfect match.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cSince shelters in New York and across the country are overflowing with homeless animals, PETA urges Pete to show some big heart energy by adopting, not shopping, in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n Davidson, for his part, slammed the organization\u2019s criticism by leaving Nachminovitch a heated voicemail<\/a>. \u201cI just want to let you know I\u2019m severely allergic to dogs, so I have to get a specific breed,\u201d the King of Staten Island<\/em> star explained in an audio clip. \u201cI\u2019m only not allergic to cavapoos and those types of dogs. F\u2013k you and suck my d\u2013k.\u201d<\/p>\n The Meet Cute<\/em><\/a> actor welcomed his new furry friend in June 2023, one month after his family mourned the loss of their beloved pup Henry<\/a>, whom he called \u201cthe happiest and sweetest dog\u201d via an Instagram<\/a> message shared on his friend Dave Sirus<\/strong>\u2019 account.<\/p>\n While other stars such as Rihanna<\/strong><\/a>, Kim Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> and Jennifer Lopez<\/strong><\/a> have been scrutinized for wearing real fur and animal skin clothing and accessories, PETA targeted Lady Gaga<\/strong><\/a> in June 2014 after she shared snaps of her French Bulldog, Asia, posing in bejeweled headpieces<\/a>, necklaces and earrings via Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cLady Gaga may choose to decorate herself with elaborate and even uncomfortable outfits, but Asia doesn\u2019t get to make that choice,\u201d a rep for the organization told Us<\/em> in a statement at the time. \u201cAlthough it seems pretty clear that Lady Gaga loves Asia, we think Asia\u2014and all dogs\u2014are adorable without all the added flair. The best accessory for any dog is a comfortable, secure, well-fitting harness, which is perfect for long walks together.\u201d<\/p>\n The A Star is Born<\/em><\/a> actress also received heavy backlash for sporting her now-infamous meat dress<\/a> at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. While PETA president Ingrid E. Newkirk<\/strong> called the look \u201coffensive,\u201d Gaga clarified she did not attend to disrespect<\/a> vegans or vegetarians with her out-of-the-box look.<\/p>\n \u201cAs you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth,\u201d the Grammy winner told Ellen DeGeneres<\/strong><\/a> after the September 2010 awards show. \u201cHowever, it has many interpretations, but for me this evening, if we don\u2019t stand up for what we believe in and if we don\u2019t fight for our rights, pretty soon we\u2019re going to have as much rights as the meat on our bones.
