Chris Redd<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about dating his SNL<\/em> and Kenan<\/em> co-star Kenan Thompson<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s ex-wife Christina Evangeline<\/strong><\/a> for the first time. <\/p>\n In a new, lengthy video shared to Instagram on Tuesday (January 6), the 40-year-old comedian and actor shared he fell for her when she was there for him during a difficult time. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI know a lot of people talk about me dating Kenan Thompson<\/strong>\u2019s ex-wife and how that came to be. I\u2019ma just tell it to you straight,\u201d he said, saying there \u201cwasn\u2019t no plan.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEvery single thing that everybody said, I saw it, and bottom line is, I\u2019m not that type of person to scheme on a person. I\u2019m not the type of person to even date somebody that like, one of my homies has dated. This is a very unique, nuanced thing that happened,\u201d Chris<\/strong> continued. <\/p>\n He mentioned that they \u201cwere all cool,\u201d and \u201cthere was never nothing crazy until it got crazy.\u201d <\/p>\n Chris <\/strong>then shared that during his time on Saturday Night Live<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, he had some issues with pills. <\/p>\n \u201cBottom line is while I was at the show, I had some pill issues. I had some pill problems, nothing too crazy but crazy for my Black a\u2013. I was even selling some to people, some of my castmates,\u201d he revealed, joking he wasn\u2019t going to snitch on any of his castmates. <\/p>\n \u201cI would have panic attacks, [and people] wouldn\u2019t be concerned about me or nothing, would just talk sh-t,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd it was crazy how somebody would watch you destroy yourself.\u201d <\/p>\n Chris<\/strong> went on to credit Christina<\/strong> with being the one to call him out and \u201chelp me on my sh-t.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cShe helped me with my therapy journey and she told me things about her life that made me look at a lot of people involved differently. And in that time, we fell in love,\u201d he shared, noting it made him feel \u201cbad from the start,\u201d like \u201can emotional double-edged sword.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI really loved everything me and Kenan<\/strong> did. I really appreciated every piece of work that we put together. I think that we were a great team. And I hate doing something to somebody that I know would hurt them,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t feel player for this sh-t at all. But I did choose love.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cTo all the fans I disappointed, just know this was not something \u2014 I don\u2019t feel like a pimp. I don\u2019t feel cool about this at all, besides the fact that I found someone that makes me feel like I didn\u2019t even know what love was for real. And I just feel like I couldn\u2019t miss out on it. And love is not sensical,\u201d Chris<\/strong> added. <\/p>\n The comedian shared that he and Kenan<\/strong> spoke out about it and they agreed to keep it under wraps, and they worked together for a year before his relationship with Christina<\/strong> was even found out.<\/p>\n In April 2022, it was revealed<\/a> that Kenan<\/strong> and Christina<\/strong> split after 10 years of marriage and they had already been separated for about a year at that time. <\/p>\n Later that year, Chris announced his exit<\/a> from SNL in September, and less than two weeks later it was revealed he and Christina <\/strong>were dating<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
