Derek Hough<\/strong><\/a> and Hayley Erbert Hough<\/strong><\/a> are officially parents \u2014 and their hearts are fuller than ever.<\/p>\n The Dancing With the Stars<\/em><\/a> judge, 40, and his wife, 31, announced the arrival of their first child, a baby girl, on January 5, 2026. The couple shared the joyful news on Instagram<\/a> alongside a touching black-and-white photo of themselves gently holding their newborn\u2019s tiny feet.<\/p>\n \u201cDecember 29, 2025 Everley Capri Hough \ud83e\udd0d Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed,\u201d Derek and Hayley wrote in the caption, introducing fans to their daughter.<\/p>\n The milestone moment comes just over two years after the couple tied the knot. Derek and Hayley, who first met more than a decade ago, have long been a fan-favorite duo \u2014 both on and off the dance floor.<\/p>\n The pair first met in 2014 while touring together on Derek and Julianne Hough<\/strong>\u2019s Move Live Tour. Their professional partnership eventually turned romantic in 2015, though they kept their relationship mostly private until going public in 2017. After eight years of dating, Derek proposed in 2022, and the two said \u201cI do\u201d on August 26, 2023.<\/p>\n The couple first revealed they were expecting in July 2025 with a sweet Instagram video<\/a>. In the sun-soaked clip, Derek and Hayley embraced outdoors as Hayley proudly held up a strip of sonogram photos. \u201cWe can\u2019t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small \u2665\ufe0f,\u201d they captioned the post.<\/p>\n As Hayley\u2019s due date approached, she shared both laughs and real talk about preparing for parenthood. \u201cThe best piece of advice that I\u2019ve gotten is not to listen to anybody\u2019s advice,\u201d she told E! News<\/em><\/a>. \u201cBecause you will get so many people trying to give advice and then you\u2019re just gonna be like, that doesn\u2019t work for my child.\u201d<\/p>\n Still, there was one meaningful suggestion the couple fully embraced. \u201cThe best piece of advice that Derek got was, if he\u2019s able to and he\u2019s willing, \u2018Catch the baby,\u2019\u201d Hayley explained. \u201cTo be the first hands to catch your baby earth-side is the most special thing ever. And he would be the hands that bring the baby to me.\u201d<\/p>\n Family excitement has been building, too.
