Sadie Sink has an emotional connection to Running Up That Hill<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old actress\u2019 Stranger Things character Max Mayfield became synonymous with the 1985 classic track thanks to the fourth season of the show but she insisted she isn\u2019t \u201ctired\u201d of hearing the song now because she has so many memories attached to it.<\/p>\n
She told SFX magazine: \u201cI\u2019m still able to listen to it.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, I don\u2019t voluntarily, I\u2019m not listening to it in my free time, but I actually think it\u2019s such a hit and it\u2019s a really good song, so I\u2019m not tired of it, but it definitely is one of those songs that, when I listen to it, it\u2019s very emotional now because it\u2019s so connected to the show.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt always brings up these big feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWith Max in a coma during season five, her on-screen boyfriend Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLoughlin) tries to connect with her by playing Running up that Hill and she admitted it was \u201cweird\u201d to hear it again at first.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI remember being like, \u2018Are we really doing this again?\u2019 And we were on that set again, and I was in the same outfit I\u2019d been in since I was 17 years old, and now I was 22, and I was just in the same clothes and in the red void.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cObviously, it\u2019s different circumstances, different stakes, so it\u2019s a little bit different, and it doesn\u2019t have the same outcome in the end.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut it was this moment of, \u2018Whoah, okay, we\u2019re really back here!\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cEspecially after the song had become what it did, to go back to that set and do the running again, I was like, \u2018Huh, this feels weird.\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n
\nWhile she appears unconscious, Max is trapped in Henry Creel\/Vecna\u2019s dreamscape, Camazotz, and Sadie admitted she missed not sharing the screen with Caleb as much as previous seasons.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cIt\u2019s really sad in a way. I really missed getting to act with Caleb because, like, there were none of my familiar faces around me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt was hard at first.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBut Max and Lucas, it\u2019s heartbreaking, they\u2019re so connected still in so many ways, him playing the song for her and her hearing it, and then it going away, and them sensing each other\u2019s presence, relying on each other still, but actually not being able to be together.\u201d<\/p>\n
