Chevy Chase<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s daughter, Caley Chase<\/strong>, says that the cast and crew of Community<\/i> heckled Chevy during a wrap party for the show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad was super excited to bring me and my mom to the wrap party,\u201d Caley, 40, recalls in the CNN documentary I\u2019m Chevy Chase and You\u2019re Not.<\/i>\u00a0\u201cWe walk in, [Community<\/i> creator] Dan<\/strong> [Harmon<\/strong>], he had had some drinks. He had gotten the whole cast and crew to yell, \u2018F*** you, Chevy!\u2019 \u2018F*** you, Chevy!\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Caley continues, \u201cI\u2019m there, he\u2019s showing his daughter, like, \u2018This is the show I did,\u2019 and we walk in to \u2018F*** you, Chevy!\u2019 That\u2019s rough and mean.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The NBC sitcom, which followed the antics of a community college study group, premiered in 2009 and was canceled after five seasons<\/span><\/a>. It was revived for a sixth and final season<\/span> on the short-lived streaming platform Yahoo! Screen in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tChevy Chase has some choice opinions about his time on the NBC sitcom Community. \u201cI honestly felt the show wasn\u2019t funny enough for me, ultimately. I felt a bit constrained,\u201d Chase, 79, confessed on the Monday, September 25, episode of the \u201cWTF with Marc Maron\u201d podcast. \u201cEverybody had their bits, and I thought they were [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Chevy, 82, played Pierce Hawthorne and left the series in 2012 after using the N-word on the set<\/span><\/a>. Community<\/i> director Jay Chandrasekhar<\/strong>, among the talking heads in I\u2019m Chevy Chase and You\u2019re Not<\/i>, says the incident occurred during a \u201cblackface\u201d hand puppet bit written for Chevy\u2019s character. His costar, Yvette Nicole Brown<\/strong>, was witness to it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know that there was a history between [Chevy and Yvette] around race, and she got up and stormed out of there,\u201d Chandrasekhar, 57, recalls in the doc. \u201cChevy storms off, so the producer is like, \u2018We need Yvette in the scene, right?\u2019 I\u2019m like, \u2018Yeah, she\u2019s in the next scene.\u2019 And he goes, \u2018Well, she won\u2019t come out unless Chevy apologizes to her.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Chandrasekhar, Chevy claimed he \u201cdidn\u2019t say anything\u201d to offend Brown, 54, and when the director asked him to apologize, \u2018[Chevy] goes, \u2018For what?\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

After The Hollywood Reporter<\/i><\/span><\/a> published a story about the episode, Chandrasekhar said that Chevy came \u201cstorming onto the set, and he goes, \u2018Who f***ed me over?\u2019 \u2026 My career is ruined! I\u2019m ruined!\u2019 Like, it\u2019s a full meltdown. \u2018F*** all of you!\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Alright, let\u2019s shoot the scene.\u2019 He never ended up coming back after that.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

McHale, 52, and Chase, 80, appeared together on the NBC comedy for five seasons from 2009 to 2014, with things sometimes escalating to real-life violence. Chevy had clashed with Harmon, 52, during his time on the show, and months prior to Chevy\u2019s departure, Harmon was dismissed as showrunner weeks after leaking an angry voicemail<\/span><\/a> from Chevy that circulated online. (Harmon returned to the Community<\/i> writer\u2019s room in 2013.)<\/span><\/p>\n
