Rob Reiner<\/strong><\/a> and wife Michele Singer Reiner<\/strong>\u2019s medical records are being sealed under court order \u201cuntil further notice,\u201d per the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

NBC 4 Los Angeles<\/em><\/a> reported on Monday, December 29, that the Los Angeles Police Department obtained the court order amid its ongoing homicide investigation into the deaths of the When Harry Met Sally\u2026<\/em> director<\/a> and his wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe LAPD sought to seal the records of the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s investigation into Robert and Michele Reiner\u2019s death,\u201d the LAPD said in a statement to NBC 4<\/em>. \u201cThe causes of death of Mr. and Mrs. Reiner have already been made public. The order was sought only to ensure detectives from Robbery-Homicide Division learned of important information surrounding their deaths before the media and the public. The order was not sought to undermine transparency.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s office confirmed in a statement<\/a> on Monday that it had \u201creceived a court order\u201d to \u201cplace a security hold\u201d on medical reports pertaining to the Reiners on Wednesday, December 24.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tRob and Michele Singer Reiner made numerous public appearances \u2014 and plans with several celebrity friends \u2014 in the days leading up to their murders. Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, December 15 that Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, died from \u201capparent stab wounds,\u201d according to the Los Angeles police. Their shocking deaths came as a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWhile the cause and manner of death were previously released on these cases, due to the court order, the information is no longer available. No other case information or records, including the Medical Examiner report, can be released or posted on the website until further notice,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Department understands the public\u2019s interest in these cases and remains committed to transparency when possible. Information will be made available once the court order is lifted,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n

People<\/em><\/a>, which said it obtained a copy of the court order, reported on Monday that it bans \u201cthe public release of any investigative information, notes, reports, or photos\u201d to anyone but \u201cassigned investigators.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner\u2019s office previously confirmed that Rob, 78, and Michele, 70, died from \u201cmultiple sharp force injuries.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tRob Reiner\u2019s family has always been synonymous with showbiz. The Princess Bride director and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles, home on Sunday, December 14. Rob leaves behind four children. Rob, who was 78, won two Emmy Awards for his role as Mike \u201cMeathead\u201d Stivic in the classic [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The couple were found dead inside their home<\/a> in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles on December 14. Their son, Nick Reine<\/strong>r, 32, was arrested the following day in connection with the murders.<\/p>\n

On December 16, Nick was formally charged with two counts of first-degree murder<\/a>. He faces in life in prison without the possibility of parole or the death penalty. He is expected to be arraigned on January 7, 2026.<\/p>\n

Nick\u2019s siblings, Jake<\/strong>, 34, and Romy<\/strong>, 28, broke their silence<\/a> on their parents\u2019 deaths in a statement on December 17.<\/p>\n
