Authorities noted two persons were found outside the home when emergency services arrived, and they were both taken to a nearby hospital. <\/p>\n<p>Sadly, <strong>Dennis<\/strong> died from his injuries at the hospital, and<strong> Mary Lou<\/strong> was transferred to another hospital. <\/p>\n<p>According to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6924458\/2025\/12\/28\/denny-hamlin-parents-giant-house-fire-nascar\/\" onclick=\"getOutboundLink(&#039;https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6924458\/2025\/12\/28\/denny-hamlin-parents-giant-house-fire-nascar\/&#039;); return false;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Athletic<\/a><\/em>, 10-15 fire departments responded to the home due to it\u2019s size, and it\u2019s location in a remote wooded area.
