The 63-year-old actress prefers to give one thing her entire focus and then when it is \u201cdone\u201d, she will immediately move on to something else.<\/p>\n
She told Red magazine: \u201cThat\u2019s my personality.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like to do one thing with total focus, and then I like to be done and go skiing.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not somebody who\u2019s a multi-tasker. Can\u2019t go in and out of doing one thing, then do something else.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m like a one-person channel.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe A Private Life actress loves to find new ways to be challenged and loves nothing more than \u201clearning something that I have to immerse myself in in mind and body\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cSo I would like someone to say, \u2018OK Jodie, you have to take a year of your life and you will speak Mandarin and play the flute.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m in. I want to take on something like that.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nJodie also likes the idea of going back to school for up to a year.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cBut I don\u2019t want to be stuck making a commitment to something that I then have to be an expert in for my whole life.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI just want to play an expert on TV.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, the Silence of the Lambs star is happy there are increasingly more high-profile roles for older women in film and TV.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cMaybe that\u2019s just because our great actors are finally getting older, and so we had to have vehicles for them\u2026<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAlso, things changed. I think there was a real consciousness that few in the industry.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cAd you know, when I grew up in the film business, there were no other women, so it was just me and a whole bunch of guys.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI never saw another female face, except for sometimes the woman with my mom or make-up artist, but most of the time not.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAnd Jodie is always open to having roles adapted for her.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cI mean, you think of True Detective, it wasn\u2019t written for a woman my age.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI made it into a woman my age because they hired me, but it was written for a 35-year-old woman.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cOr I think of Flightplan, that was written for a man.\u201d<\/p>\n
