Princess Diana<\/a>.<\/p>\n\nHarry suggested king Charles may have had his voicemails intercepted when questioned on an article in the Mirror headlined \u2018Harry\u2019s cocaine, ecstasy and GHB parties\u2019, which also claimed his dad was \u201cworried sick\u201d about the prince.<\/p>\n

\nBecoming the first royal questioned in a UK courtroom for 130 years, Harry has claimed phone hacking was used to find out how he had celebrate his 18th birthday and admitted calling his mum\u2019s former butler Paul Burrell, 65, a \u201ctwo faced s***\u201d in 2003.<\/p>\n
\nGiving evidence throughout Tuesday morning, Harry also stated he feared he would be \u201cousted\u201d from the royal family over rumours Major James Hewitt was his real dad.<\/p>\n
\nHe told how he had not realised Major Hewitt only met his mum Princess Diana \u2013 who was killed in a 1997 Paris car smash aged 36 \u2013 until after he was born.<\/p>\n
\nThe duke said: \u201cAt the time, I wasn\u2019t actually aware that my mother hadn\u2019t met Major Hewitt until after I was born. This timeline is something I only learnt of in around 2014.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAdding the rumours Major Hewitt was his biological dad instead of King Charles were \u201cvery damaging\u201d and \u201cvery real\u201d to him, he said: \u201cThey were hurtful, mean and cruel.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe also said he feared the rumours would sow \u201cdoubt in the minds of the public so I might be ousted from the royal family\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nHarry noted in his court statement that as the \u201cspare\u201d to the \u201cheir\u201d, he was portrayed as \u201ceither the \u2018playboy prince\u2019, the \u2018failure\u2019, the \u2018drop out\u2019 or, in my case, the \u2018thicko\u2019, the \u2018cheat\u2019, the \u2018underage drinker\u2019, \u2018irresponsible drug taker\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nHarry has also slammed the current UK government, arguing that the Conservative Party has reached \u201crock bottom\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nThe prince, who now lives in California with his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 41, and their two children after the couple stepped down as working royals, explained: \u201cOur country is judged globally by the state of our press and our government \u2013 both of which I believe are at rock bottom.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cDemocracy fails when your press fails to scrutinise and hold the government accountable, and instead choose to get into bed with them so they can ensure the status quo.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHarry\u2019s case is being heard alongside three other \u201crepresentative\u201d claims during a trial which started last month and is due to last six to seven weeks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
