Battle of the Sexes\u2026 girl, so embarrassing,\u201d said <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/quantumgenesys\/status\/2005312264442933567?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">one fan via X<\/a>, alongside a screenshot from the match.<\/p>\n<p>Kyrgios won the first two sets of the best-of-three contest, 6-3, 6-3.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s \u201cBattle of the Sexes\u201d referenced the 1973 match by the same name between <strong>Billie Jean King<\/strong> and <strong>Bobby Riggs<\/strong>. After the match, cameras caught the player in tears while microphones picked up her trash talking her opponent. She was right there, it could have gone either way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kyrgios currently ranks No. 671 in men\u2019s singles and has only played five matches in 2025 as he recovers from injury. He was the runner-up at Wimbledon in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was nervous,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t think many people would have put their hand up to be in this position. The score line was close, I was under the pump there. I was nervous, this is all the world was talking about for the last six months. I couldn\u2019t even use my right hand a year, 18 months ago.
