James Cameron<\/a>, 71, that she was up for doing it at Disney’s D23 Expo in August 2024.<\/p>\nMiley – who was honoured as a Disney Legend alongside James at the event – told People: “I kind of throw it out there as I always do. I already knew the answer to, \u2018So what have you been up to?\u2019 <\/p>\n
“I know he’s been up to Avatar for a very long time.”<\/p>\n
The Hannah Montana actress then recalled what she told James – who, at the time, was in the middle of making the third Avatar movie: “‘Just lemme know if you ever need any music.’<\/p>\n
\n“It just kind of organically happened. James actually calls us \u2018Legends in law.'”<\/p>\n
\nAnd Miley’s technique proved a success when she wrote the song Beautiful That Way – which received a Golden Globe nomination – for the 2024 film, The Last Showgirl, which starred Pamela Anderson, 58, and 67 year old Jamie Lee Curtis.<\/p>\n
\nLaughing, Miley said: “I did the same thing to Jamie Lee Curtis. That’s how I ended up doing The Last Showgirl and now being a part of Avatar.”<\/p>\n
\nAnd the Flowers hitmaker only rocked up to the Oscars back in March to get involved in movies.<\/p>\n
\nAsked if offering original music is her “tried and true method” of landing gigs on the big screen, Miley said: “No, literally, that’s why I went to the Oscars this year. Everybody that came up and introduced themselves, I said, \u2018Well, if you need any music, I’m around.'”<\/p>\n
\nThe star – who landed a cameo role in 2024’s Drive-Away Dolls – even offered music to the creators of the Netflix series, Baby Reindeer.<\/p>\n
\nMiley said: “I don’t know what I would write for Baby Reindeer season two, but I threw that out there!”<\/p>\n
\nElsewhere in her interview with the publication, she shared her love for music and movies, being able to “become embedded”.<\/p>\n
\nMiley explained: “I really feel myself attached to songs. There’s certain songs that even if they were written for the film or just a song used in the film, like I Will Always Love You, you immediately think of the movie itself, and they become embedded.”<\/p>\n
