\t\t<\/p>\n Gwyneth Paltrow<\/strong><\/a> reveals that she once turned down a sex scene with Ethan Hawke<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 53-year-old actress and the 55-year-old actor reunited 27 years after Great Expectations<\/em> to discuss what making the film was like and more for Vanity Fair<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n During their conversation, Ethan<\/strong> asked Gwyneth<\/strong> if she remembered the \u201clove scene\u201d director Alfonso Cuar\u00f3n<\/strong> had pitched for the 1998 film.<\/p>\n The Goop<\/em> founder recalls the filmmaker telling her about a scene where Ethan<\/strong>\u2018s character would \u201cgo down on\u201d her and her initial reaction being: \u201cOh my god, my father\u2019s going to have a heart attack.\u201d<\/p>\n Ethan<\/strong> chimed in with his impression of their director at the time: \u201c\u2018The camera is going to go down your belly, and then it\u2019s going to go up your breasts, and then it\u2019s going to go in your face as you reach ecstasy. And then when you reach ecstasy, the light will explode like the sun!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n They both remember Gwyneth<\/strong> saying she wasn\u2019t going to do it, with her recalling how \u201cself-conscious\u201d she was at the time about her dad and grandfather seeing that \u201ckind of stuff\u201d at the beginning of her career.<\/p>\n \u201cIt really bothered me,\u201d she said, adding, \u201cNow, I wouldn\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n But the Before Sunrise<\/em> star praised her for how she handled it.<\/p>\n \u201cYou had an awareness of the way that the business works, and the ways in which those kinds of images could be manipulated and what it meant to your dad,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Gwyneth<\/strong> made her first red carpet appearance with both of her kids Apple<\/strong><\/a> and Moses Martin<\/strong> at the New York premiere of Marty Supreme<\/strong><\/a><\/em>.
